2025 LA DL Jahkeem Stewart (USC Signee)

Ohio State football team is about to flip a five-star offensive lineman

The Ohio State football team has had issues recruiting offensive linemen. They might get a big one after a great visit on Saturday.

The Ohio State football team is trying to close out its 2025 recruiting class. We've seen some bad things happen so far, including one de-commitment and one player likely to flip elsewhere. Meanwhile, they haven't been able to add anyone or flip anyone yet.

That might be coming soon enough. The Ohio State Buckeyes hosted a ton of recruits for their top-five matchup against the Hoosiers of Indiana over the weekend. One of those recruits is someone they have been trying to land for over a year now and is currently committed to Tennessee.

I'm talking about David Sanders Jr. Sanders Jr. is a five-star tackle who is rated as the top tackle in the 2025 class. He has been committed to the Volunteers since August, so it's not like he's been loving them for over a year or anything like that. He loved what he saw during this visit.

Sanders Jr. was just here over the weekend, but there's talk that he could even visit for The Game as well. If he does that, his recruitment is good as done. He'll be a Buckeye next season. You don't visit another school two weeks in a row if you aren't going to flip there.

There are some NIL discussions that are happening as well. While it's unclear how much the Buckeyes are offering, Sanders Jr. wouldn't come cheap. If Justin Frye can land him, he will save his job. Frye has been under fire for poor recruiting for the last two years.

USC insider Scott Schrader has Jahkeem Stewart as a USC/Oregon battle with USC being infront due to their NIL offer. Wiltfong said he agrees.

Paying a million plus for a kid with one year of high school football played is insane lol but that’s what desperate schools do.
Has he really only played one year of high school football?

Yes. I believe 10 games to be exact. And I don't think any this year since he transferred(he had to in order to reclassify and graduate early). He reclassified and misses his senior year. He's only played as a Sophomore.
So when he hits a college campus he would have not played an actual football game for 2yrs

He’s missed a ton of football including his senior season. I’ve read on the 11W forum he hadn’t played in nearly two years. Also saw that he was asking for $2 million.

Despite the massive potential, this has “pay him stupid NIL money, play him immediately when he’s not ready and hurt the team or don’t play him enough to keep him from being disgruntled and watch him transfer almost immediately” written all over it.

This does not seem like a smart allocation of resources at the moment; maybe try to catch him on the first transfer with a year of college development under his belt.

I guess I haven't been tracking this recruitment much because I didn't think we would end up with him, but I did not realize that. I'm sure we would have been elated to get his commitment, but much easier to stomach...I don't think he would have been an early contributor knowing that.

Particularly since they aren't exactly deep on the DL next fall, when he should be learning or getting spot duty. They're not desperate, but they're starting over at all 4 spots most likely.

They should be fine, but they certainly don't have enough to avoid considering something extreme in recruiting.

There's also the matter of how it went for Jack when he missed crucial development time in HS, and that was with only skipping his senior year. And Jack was a multi sport star as a freshmen, so he wasn't sitting out unused.

There is no doubt in my mind that whatever NIL $ is would take to land Stewart would be significantly better invested in proven transfers who are going to play.

If this report is accurate, high school stewart is asking for more than SEC wrecking Dylan Stewart (1-1.5)

This kid needs at least a year to get used to a college system, and if USC is forced to play him early, then there can be some really tough games ahead for him and could mess with his confidence. Especially being so far away from home, and then if he doesn't play well
