KyLLLLLe KaLLLLLis (traitor with a platinum sombrero)

Can I just add, while I was banned there for a bit... New guy, you know, took me a minute to know where I was, but you guys are some of the best, knowledgeable football fans on the web. You know your football, and what I like, you know about the kids from your state. It's sad that their are so many idiots of every fan base... We saw some Michigan idiots in this very thread, it looks like, but it's sad that the idiots in your fan base are doing and saying the stuff about Kyle that they are. I love that you guys have a strict NO SAYING BAD STUFF about a recruit, as these are just kids, albeit 6'5 300 pound beasts! Anyway, I will work on not flooding this board with dumb Michigan stuff, though I'll ask you guys about the kids Michigan has or is in on, and I hope that's okay! PEACE!

From a character standpoint, probably not a big loss. I've said from the beginning that I cannot understand growing up cheering for Ohio State and then going to Michigan. If that's the way you want to play it, you'd better win or you won't hear the end of it.

From a talent perspective, its a big gain for Michigan. So that part of it sucks.

While I am surprised with the outcome and it's unfortunate how this played out, I still wish the kid the best of luck. None of us know what the kid is going through nor what is best for him. I love our rivalry, which makes this sting like a mosquito bite but stay focused on the results played out on the field. One recruit does not make a B10 champion. Michigan is doing well recruiting this year but they have much to prove before we crown them B10 champions. I kind of look forward to the game meaning a bit more to be honest and hope they can bring back some prominence.

Kyle has a good opportunity to make an impact at Michigan and presents a good opportunity to be the source of some good old rivalry dialogue. I'm proud of the posters on BP for the fresh perspective and for keeping it classy. Great community here. I am extremely impressed with how this recruiting class has held on in spite of everything. We will do just fine with or without Kyle and we will be just fine by signing day. Most importantly, as we always are, we will be very happy with the product on the field. This year has the potential to be one of the most incredible and emotional years in a long time.

:oh:

I don't know what 2012 and beyond holds, but I could see this year's game getting out of hand in a hurry. UMs D just isn't good. Period. In fact they stink. And they are going to be trotting the same sorry bunch out there as last year.

Obviously Fick is on a year long audition and what better way to put a stamp on your resume than a beating of Michigan?

Enjoy your 4 years in Ann Arbor Kyle. :slappy:

Diamond is probably still a heavy Michigan lean, even with the commitment of Kalis.

Most likely true but it is still strange Hoke is going after so many OT types. Hoke must buy into the idea of taking as many tackles and moving the ones that best fit inside. IMO that would be Kalis. Thats what makes his decision so strange. You don't like the coaching situation at OSU, OK pick another school. But pick a school that will not be forced to move you from the NFL money position of playing on the edges of the offensive line.

The "money" position in the NFL is LT, and point blank Kalis probably is not a future NFL LT.

He could definitely be an All-B10 RT in college, but if I were him I'd ask to move to guard. He has the makings of a future star at the guard position.

Dominant guards can do pretty well money wise in the NFL. Seem to recall Steve Hutchinson signing a $50 some million deal and being a staple in the Pro Bowl.

LT's are at the top, but RT's will get more on average then interior lineman.

Comparing Kalis to Hutchinson is crazy. He seems to be a good tackle. To say he couldnt get coached up and play LT isn`t out of the realm of possibilities. To say that um will sign up to 6 OT`s (Diamond included) imho is a huge mistake and it will show its ugly head. Penn State a few years back recruited a huge DL class. It has showed since then is their lack of playmakers on O, DB and safety. This class is very very unbalanced and I for one will be surprised that this doesnt affect other very important positions down the road. If Diamond signs with um I will be surprised if they keep them all.

As much as I hate to say it keeping relatively low oline numbers.....and sometimes too low for us.....is a great way to field additional playmakers on defense and offense. Go Bucks

I would agree with you if the OL recruiting hadn't been borderline ignored up there for the past three years. They can probably use all the OL they can get right now.
