Kristina Johnson (OSU President)

What I find interesting in all of this is how much attention Wexner is getting and how little of the managerial issues / treatment of personnel is not.

Were it not for posters on this board with close-ish knowledge of the situation, I’m not sure that I’d even know about that angle.

I’m not going to pretend to know up from down on any of this… just an observation.
This is something that I had heard from a few people that I know who work with the university. It was a situation where it was pretty much that Johnson was going to push what she wanted and if she didn't like it she was not only going to let you know but if you went against her she would let you know how much she didn't like that either.

Smokescreen Sparc. The spin doctors gotta say something that deflects the true issue(s). Come on, if Wexner wanted the Med Center to go a certain direction, he'd direct President to put somesuch on the agenda. AND, he'd be politicing with the other regents/board members behind the scenes. Do it one at a time and not a violation of the Brown Act. So if and when comes up for a vote to implement or not, then voila, it passes the table and gets implemented. All you can do is point out either the irregularities and/or legalities, and get your sentiments in the Board minutes. Those things last forever, and get referred to quite a bit actually. It's an outgoing Pres/Chancellor who brings up the past record to point out one or more of the Board's terrible decisions. "this was what the Board voted on, and I was tasked with implementation".....

From my experience with educational Superintendents/Boards (at a K-12 level), each and every Supt I've worked with/for has an ego. They wouldn't want the job if not. So, am assuming that it's same with Kristina. Some of it's resume building (they're always looking for the next job), and being able to say, "I did that" in so many words. So yeah, I entirely get that she wanted to start/plan/implement some change. Let us not forget, that any Pres/Supt/King/Queen worth their salt will bring forward to his/her Board (we all have a boss), for their approval. If not, then that's called 'going off the reservation', and would lead to instant termination. Education is a funny thing, you can offend someone (sounds like Wexner in this case), and they'll lie in the bushes, and somehow sometime, they'll get the power/votes whatever, and rise up and strike the offender down. Seen it happen (to me more than once), and the end result is cleaning out your desk. Cannot wait for her book to come out.

Heard from a couple of people in the know. It absolutely was Wexner, who considers himself something of the de-facto university President. He also considers the medical center to be the personal fiefdom of he and his wife.

The bad boss spin was just a fig leaf to protect Wexner. She wasn't sexually harassing anyone or discriminating against anyone on a gender or racial basis. She was just a mean boss, and if that's all there was to it, she would have been given a private reprimand and been assigned some type of trainer/coach to work with her on it. She butted heads with Wexner over the medical center though, and she's gone.

There better be an awfully big pot of gold at the end of Wexner's rainbow to make up for the damage that he's done here. One bright spot is that if he were still at British Columbia, I'm sure that JuggalOno would be throwing his hat into the ring. Having that self-promoting grifter at Ohio State would be the worst.

When a political animal reaches the levels of the Peter Principle, the answer is always "Oh no".
We'll see how his tired act is going to play in Ann Arbor after the newness wears off. The juggalos ate it up because he promised them the world: P5, AAU and CCC. He delivered on none of it, went around Cincinnati telling people that Ohio State talked the rest of the B1G into blackballing them out of the AAU and then skipped town.

tsun already has all those things and more. He can't really make them big promises to justify himself. He just has to effectively manage the golden goose that he's been handed. So far, he's made a fool of himself with the poem request and appears to be horribly mismanaging the graduate student strike. Yeh hate to see it.

The one thing that the haters like me shouldn't underestimate about JuggalOno is his snake-like ability to manipulate trustees and other university power brokers. That was certainly on display in his attempts to blame Ohio State for UC not getting an AAU invite. Remember also that at UC he was brought in by his predecessor as provost and immediately set about undermining the President who hired him with the board so that he could get the big seat. It got so bad that the President ended up so frustrated that he went full Costanza and threw his arms up at a board meeting and said "I'm OUT!" Ono got the big seat, and the rest is misery.

Aside from his comical ego and self-promotion, this is a really bad, devious shitbag of a human being.

He'd just be a solid 3 star if he was recruited by the U.S. government to further his career at the next level. Some natural talent for deception and self promotion but a lot of development would need to take place to be a Congressman or Senator.

Dearest Leader and Beloved President Ono has matters well in hand. All is well, and a new poem shall be commissioned to celebrate his incredible strength and leadership.

From tsun's student paper.

These “bullshit grades” are often determined by department chairs or other faculty who had no prior involvement with the classes they’re now assigning grades for. They don’t know the students and they don’t know their work. These grades do not and cannot actually reflect a student’s performance in the class. Speaking as undergraduate students that have experienced this dynamic first-hand, we are telling you: please reject these bullshit grades.

In the British system used or adapted in Europe, Aust/NZ, India, and most of Africa, grades typically are quality assured internally and externally prior to announcement to students. Internally, grades are assessed by professors, who blindly mark 5-10% of exams according to course syllabi, course outlines, and grading guides, etc. for comparison to the given grade. After resolving differences, a subset of exams, typically is sent to appointef external examiners from other universities that are recognized in the field. The externally-examined exams usually include those on the cusp of a higher grade. So, a graduate student's grades would never be sufficient.

So, as of this past week, Ohio State has no President. Trustees haven't named even an interim President. Tons of political shit going down with regards to higher education. Fredo and the rest of the scum always ready to pounce if they see an opportunity. In the middle of a $4.5 billion dollar campaign. All with no President. Wexner has really screwed things up big time.
