WoodyWorshipper & BuckeyeBeliever, Kudos. This is the kind of give and take and SELF CORRECTION that seldom (if ever) happens on Bucknuts anymore. I only caught a quick glimps of the thread last night and didn't have time to chime in before heading out. I was planning to do so today, but now have no need. The written word is a difficult thing to interpret at times and WW's subsequent post confirmed my thoughts. He assumed (with the aid of some fruit of the vine) that the reply was more of the constant sniping and back biting that is a staple of Bucknuts anymore.
BuckeyeBeliever, I hope you and your wife DO continue to frequent BuckeyePlanet. You didn't deserve the reply you got, and WW has made his apology. In time this type of thing will happen less frequently. I don't know if you know WW from Bucknuts or not, but those of us who do, know he is deeply passionate about the Buckeyes and their history. He, like many others on this board, are the no nonsense variety of fan. Many are here because they are tired of the "should the Buckeyes change their uniforms to black?" type of threads and the constant squwabbling (hum, that spelling sure doesn't look right). I think it is pretty cool. Kind of an advanced form of Buckeye Fandom, and a wealth of knowledge from most every member. Anyway, I guess my point is that many of these guys/members have a pretty intimate knowledge of one another from years of interaction on Bucknuts and other sites. They know (without emoticons or explaination) when they are kidding around with each other and when they are being serious. Before long they'll know you (and vice versa) well enough that this type of misunderstanding will not happen. Best of all, these guys will stand up and admit when they are wrong ... as you have seen. Well except for Mili ... he's never wrong!
BTW, WW I believe that YOU can delete your own posts here on BuckeyePlanet (unlike Bucknuts), unless that changed with the software update. BUT ... be careful, if you delete the first post in a thread (assuming you made the first post) it will delete the entire thread. Just a "heads up".
Oh, and as far as the thread topic. My vote goes to Krenzel. It's a tough call between him and Kern. Actually, I guess you can make a case for different guys depending on your definition of best. Does than mean skill as a passer, leader, winner, rusher, heart, etc. In the end, I believe that CK has been the most benefitial QB in OSU's history (while at OSU). I don't just mean on Saturdays. I'm talking about all the good will and positive attention he has brought to Ohio State. The numerous academic awards in addition to the Academic Heisman. The covers of sports magazines such as Sports Illustrated. The articulate and humble way he conducts himself in the media and as a teammate. The numerous single plays that define many great games, 4th and 14, Holy Buckeye, etc. All this in addition to the contributions on Saturdays has put OSU in a positive light like no other QB before ... at a time when OSU NEEDED positive news. That makes him the best in my book. Plus CK will continue to be a positive spokesperson for OSU either on Sundays, in a laboratory, or a doctor's office. And let's not forget that for one season, he and his teammates brought us PERFECTION.
