Kobe Bryant (NBA HOF, R.I.P.)

Not going to post the link due to language and being extremely inappropriate, but a certain MSNBC reporter has some explaining to do for using a different word other than Lakers.
So, I figured the reported would've said a word starting with an "L" in places of "Lakers", but couldn't think of a really "inappropriate" word starting with an "L", so I had to go Google it. When I found the video clip I could not believe she said what she said...this was no simple misspeaking of an otherwise innocuous word.

Didn’t really sound like it, but the other explanation is what? She went on air and called them the LA N*****s because she’s a huge racist? She’s not a sports reporter....she just sound like she stumbled over her words into a terrible misspeak.

She says she stumbled over Knicks and Lakers turning it into Nakers. It sound just implausible enough to be true.

I don't know of any logical reason she would just blurt that out and she did stumble a bit but man oh man, what a slip.

hate to see it take anything away from what happened though. Just awful for everyone. 9 people now I think it's up to?

Tragic. Condolences to all the families

It’s MSNBC....you expect them to know that?
Which is why to pay no attention to it at all.

Otherwise, shocking and terrible news. Not a huge NBA fan but 16, 17 years ago for my birthday (which is tomorrow so timely story) my wife got us tickets to go see the Cavs and Lakers play in Cleveland. It was LeBron James first or second year in the league. It was quite a show.

Pretty sure that's the only NBA game I've ever attended...small world

In case you don't remember how Kobe Bryant became a Laker (it was 24 years ago):

Kobe Bryant and the draft day trade that changed NBA history
Threats and uneasiness landed Kobe Bryant to the Lakers 20 years ago.
Apr 4, 2016
With the 13th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets selected Kobe Bryant out of Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia. Then, in a draft day trade that would change the course of NBA history, they dealt him to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Vlade Divac. This much is indisputable.

Note: Cleveland took Vitaly Potapenko with the 12th pick in the 12th NBA draft..... :roll1:
