One time long, long ago I was forbidden from linking to anything....on account of I could never do it correctly. As such all links will be provided by BUCKYLE on a limited basis, and only when I buy him a beer.

Keeler: Ferentz's supposedly tight ship starting to look a bit waterlogged

The Hawkeyes don't need to find new safeties. They need to find new babysitters.

First comes word out of Johnson County that two Iowa receivers, Dominique Douglas and Anthony Bowman, are charged with making purchases on unauthorized credit cards. Not to be outdone, backup quarterback Arvell Nelson gets a warrant issued for his arrest after a failure to appear in court.

In their defense, coaches and administrators are busier than ever before. But trust is a two-way street. When your players are posing on the Internet with wads of cash, liquor bottles and expensive jackets and this is the first you've heard of it, somebody's been sleeping at the wheel.

From the linked story:
...the timing, frankly, couldn't be worse.

I'm sure that Ohio State fans would like to take issue with that. Immediately before or immediately after a National Championship are worse times for off-field player issues.

But maybe the writer means that the timing couldn't be worse for Iowa, whose last flirtation with a National Championship ended in the month of October (in Ohio Stadium).
