After all he has done for the Ohio State program I feel that... I have an obligation to help him out. He lives near me in the Toledo Correctional Facility. Hopefully I can get him to listen to me Ill probably take a chance and visit him. Maybe if I could get him to attend a speed camp in the area and pay for a place for him to stay.. he can get back track on football. I know its probably not likely going to happen but it sucks kind of and it hurts being an :osu: fan and seeing Clarett in this situation. I know he did it to himself but I can't stand it that nobody has offered a hand to help him in the state of Ohio. Hopefully I or somebody else can get him back into his career(football) he still has as shot at the NFL or other leagues if he works his ass off, But can he still attend college if he can i believe he can try out for the draft if plausible and finish up three more years of NCAA football. Maybe Tom Amstutz, or somone in the Toledo/Bowling Green area can lend a hand. I know this post sounds desperate but it's really sad to see what has happened to him.

1) He has no NCAA eligibility
2) He was already drafted
3) No NFL team will ever take a risk on him again...ever.

And after all he has done for the OSU program? He played RB for us during a national championship and then lied to ESPN reporters, lied to the police, lied to the Broncos, and ended up in prison, forever tarnishing his and temporarily tarnishing Jim Tressel's name. We owe much more to the fifth year seniors that never see the field and never had a scholarship than we do to Maurice Clarett. His story is sad but the reality is that he had chances that almost no one else has ever had. I'm not saying don't try and help him...just don't expect Buckeye Nation to show him overwhelming love.

It's kinda pathetic how most Ohio State fans treat him.. If it wasn't for him(also the rest of the team) Tressel and Ohio State fans wouldn't have a National Championship in 2003. I don't really think you remember how good of a player he really was. Please don't post if you have nothing positive to say. Especially since you sound like a TROLL. Especially since you have since a high rating I wasn't expecting such a well thought out comment :wink2:.

Nobody is trying to give him a bad name, he's successfully done it himself.
He's probably the Buckeye I'm most confused about, I loved him as a player;
and in all honesty I feel Tebow should be happy he fucked up otherwise it would have been an Ohio State player as the first sophmore Heisman winner.

Perfect combination of size, speed, power and agility. I'm sure I speak for everybody when I say we would all welcome giving him a second, if it was truly possible and if he was trying to turn his life around. But as said above, no eligibility, and his stunt in the NFL has put every team off of him.

I didn't know you loose NCAA eligibility permanently when you try out for the draft. Sorry about that and I may have forgotten that he was already drafted, that was a major mistake in my post. But I think a team that's in major slumps would take him as a free agent If he improved his 40 to like 4.4 or lower which can be done with tremendous work and training. I believe everyone should be forgiven... Heres a quote from the bible(Im trying to give a perspective on the situation sorry to those who are atheist take from you what from the quote). And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? "Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." - Jesus - Matthew7:3&5.

I probably wont be posting on this thread as much or anymore at all. But I wanted to find out what the general consensus of :osu: fans where.

I don't seem to understand where your coming from. Where not condemning him for what he's done for our program. If things had been different its possible he would have been one of OSU's most celebrated son's. However thats not the case... we still love our players no matter how far gone they may be, because there's always a chance they can turns things around.

Saying that your not going to be posting on this thread or much anymore at all is sad. Because your taking what we say as a personal attack - its not, and welcome to the internet.

General consensus? - Great player, not the greatest person.

You're an idiot.

Jim Tressel did and continues to help Maurice Clarett. Do some research before you go spouting off.

At some point you gotta help yourself.

Thanks! We get it. You think he should get another chance. Dont you think you should at least have some idea what youre talking about before you make a post about something. The dude was arrested when he was on the way to a witnesses house, with a gun and a shovel. He deserves to be where he is at and he has MORE than burned his bridges at OSU.

Please go away........seriously WTF.

Very immature for somone your age.

Talk about a troll! :slappy:

With all due respect, this guy was privileged to put on an Ohio State jersey. He then took every opportunity to show disrespect to the very coaches and team members who tried to help him. When reality dawned and he discovered that the world did not revolve around him, Clarett flushed the toilet on his life and tried to take Ohio State football with him.

Everyone tried to help him and this offseason troll routine is going nowhere. He burned his bridges at Ohio State, and he shouldn't expect anything from Buckeye fans. If you want to help him, then don't talk about it, do it. Just don't expect any of us to want to discuss it or help.

I think if anything you need help from Clarett. He's had an opportunity to consider reality and, hopefully, move on with his life. Your post, on the other hand, may well be the most delusional (and, trust me, this is saying a lot) that I've ever read on BP. Seek help, quickly. Paranoid megalomania is a bitch.
