You spelled "kicked" wrong.

"ass: blocked"

"ass: kicked"

"Boat Boy: Dragged into street, blinded with propane torch, fingers removed with stud extractor, tongue removed with pliers - all to make it harder for him to post on Twitter"

I'm sure we all mean the same thing

EDIT: I hope this doesn't have to be said; the above is the kind of joke that I tell that typically amuses only me. I'm not actually psychotic, nor am I suggesting that anyone do anything described above. If boat boy does turn out to be a troll, he's actually harmless and in fact a little less tedious than most trolls. I find all trolls to be childish at best (but to each his own), but this is a pretty mild troll job if that's what it is.

Sir Yacht is actually Donald Trump trying to force the B1G to have a season so you can expect a visit from the Secret Services later today.

I find it interesting that he's says he is a "sports content creator" not a "sports news reporter".

That is an interesting word choice. If he's just a troll though, it may be difficult to capitalize on this blaze-of-glory unless he has another trick up his sleeve. He won't be able to play this card again, if indeed it came from up his sleeve (or from some other dark, cylindrical place)

Script you really posted something from Clay flucking Travis:shake:

OK, I've never heard of Clay flucking Travis or Outkick; are you saying that these articles fake? If not, it appears that Clay flucking Travis played a key roll in setting up the phone call between President Trump and Kevin Warren to "jump start" talks concerning the fall football season. If anybody does anything to help get the B1G playing this Fall (i.e. like Oct 10th) it is a very good thing.

CLAY TRAVIS BROKERED PHONE CALL BETWEEN KEVIN WARREN AND PRESIDENT TRUMP

Clay Travis, the founder of Outkick, played a major role in setting up the phone call between Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren and President Donald Trump, which centered on the Big Ten’s return to play for football season in the Fall.

John Ourand and Michael Smith reported on the story in the Sports Business Journal. Clay Travis had relationships with White House aide Timothy Pataki as well as Carrie Cecil, a communications specialist whom Kevin Warren and the Big Ten hired to help with messaging.

“It was last week that Joe Biden started running commercials in Big Ten markets that blamed Trump’s federal response to the pandemic as the main reason why the conference was not playing,” said the SBJ story. “That prompted frustrated White House aides to start talking about how Trump could play a role in getting the Big Ten’s teams back on the field to salvage a season and mute Biden’s attack. Travis, a vocal critic of the Big Ten’s decision, was part of those meetings.”

“Cecil, working as a consultant for the Big Ten, spoke to Travis to see if he might soften his criticism of Warren, a first-year commissioner with a lengthy NFL background, but no college experience,” the story continued. “Through those conversations, it became apparent that Travis was in contact with the White House and had taken part in meetings to figure out how to convince the Big Ten to play football this fall. The White House’s first contact with Warren came Monday at 5:12 pm from Pataki. The commissioner huddled with Cecil to evaluate the pros and cons, knowing that Trump would be seeking political gain from the exposure. Within an hour and 23 minutes, Warren responded and told Pataki that he’d speak with the president. By Monday night, they were all set for Trump to call Warren at 8:30 pm today. The call lasted roughly 20 minutes.”

If the Big Ten does return to play this Fall, Outkick will have played a role.

REPORTS: BIG TEN REVOTE ON RETURN TO PLAY HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Mountains are moving in the Big Ten this week. On Tuesday, President Trump and Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren had what both sides characterized as a productive phone call about return to play. The phone call was brokered by Outkick founder Clay Travis. On Wednesday, a court ordered the conference to produce more documents and information about their decision to postpone Fall sports.

Now, several websites that cover Big Ten programs are reporting that the conference’s chancellors and presidents are slated to have a re-vote this week to potentially reverse the decision and play football this Fall:

1) Dave Biddle of Bucknuts, the 247 site for Ohio State (subscription required and recommended), first reported that the Big Ten’s presidents and chancellors have “tentatively” agreed to revote on either Friday or Saturday.

2) Kevin Noon of Buckeye Grove, the Rivals site for Ohio State (subscription required and recommended), confirmed the Bucknuts report, adding: “There is no guarantee as to how this vote will go but it is thought that a vote to resume the season would mean a mid-October start, potentially October 10th.”

3) Sean Callahan of HuskerOnline, the Rivals site for Nebraska (subscription required and recommended), added the following: “A behind the scenes vote count is being taken, and if there is enough support to bring it to a vote, it will happen. If they know they won’t get the 9 votes from the Presidents/Chancellors on Friday there won’t be a revote. So if a vote does happen this week, it means they already know they have the support to overturn this. Stay tuned. If that happens, camp could open as soon as Saturday. It sounds like there are a few teams that just don’t want to play. So you could have three or four teams sit it out and not play if the vote gets overturned.”

Look, this is all convoluted. And yes, obviously these three reporters are immersed in two of the three programs (Iowa being the third) who want football season the most in the conference. They would need to flip six presidents or chancellors from Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers, and Illinois.

My two cents is this: The Big Ten should have a season with the teams that want to play, and allow the teams that do not want to play to opt out. This is similar to the idea that players who are risk averse or just feel that it is in their best personal interests to opt out should be able to do so without judgment.

It remains to be seen how much more support Ohio State, Nebraska, and Iowa can get from other institutions in the Big Ten, but they’re certainly giving this their best effort possible.

SBJ College: Clay Travis Plays Role Setting Up Trump, Warren
  • President Trump’s phone call today with Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren was facilitated by Clay Travis, the media personality who is best-known for his coverage of the SEC, not the Big Ten. John Ourand and I have the story of how it went down.
  • It dates back to the spring, when the White House first established a relationship with Travis. White House aides, many of whom are fans of Travis’ Outkick website, originally reached out to schedule Trump for a radio appearance on Travis’ Fox Sports Radio show.
  • Among the aides was director of the White House’s Office of Public Liaison, Timothy Pataki, a 2007 Ohio State graduate who played lacrosse for the Buckeyes. Trump eventually appeared on Travis’ show on Aug. 11, where he talked about his desire for college football to be played this fall. That same day, a few hours after Trump’s appearance, the Big Ten postponed its football season.
  • The conference’s decision to postpone football caused a cascade of negative press, which led the Big Ten to hire Carrie Cecil, CEO at Anachel Communications, a public affairs and communications consulting firm, to help with the fallout. Coincidentally, Cecil began her career as an intern in the late John McCain’s office, and through her 25 years of experience working with reporters, she has relationships with several media members, including Travis.
  • It was last week that Joe Biden started running commercials in Big Ten markets that blamed Trump’s federal response to the pandemic as the main reason why the conference was not playing. That prompted frustrated White House aides to start talking about how Trump could play a role in getting the Big Ten’s teams back on the field to salvage a season and mute Biden’s attack. Travis, a vocal critic of the Big Ten’s decision, was part of those meetings.
  • Cecil, working as a consultant for the Big Ten, spoke to Travis to see if he might soften his criticism of Warren, a first-year commissioner with a lengthy NFL background, but no college experience. Through those conversations, it became apparent that Travis was in contact with the White House and had taken part in meetings to figure out how to convince the Big Ten to play football this fall. The call lasted roughly 20 minutes.
  • Trump wanted the meeting to create momentum for his campaign in the important Midwestern swing states that make up the Big Ten footprint, but if it meant the federal government would provide more testing resources for Big Ten athletes, that would increase the likelihood of a safe season.
  • Following the call, the White House aides, Cecil and Travis held a conference call to discuss how it went. Everyone said they were happy and hoped for a scenario that would enable the Big Ten to start its season as early as October.

If there are only 10 teams playing, why play 10 games, why not a 9-game season where everybody plays each of the other 9?

A problem is that half of the teams get an extra home game if they play 9, but there are 5 teams in each division if Illinois, NW’ern, Maryland and Rutgers are the 4 not playing, so it would be like it has been lately.
