Kelly Pavlik (official thread)

lightsout;961238; said:
Pavlik is fighting John Duddy January 26th in Atlantic City. For those that don't know about Duddy, he's 21-0 16 KO's. He's got a tuneup fight this week. He's got a huge Irish following. A.C will be even crazier than it was for the Taylor fight.

link?

from what i've read thats still just a rumor.

Pursuant to the contract, the fight is scheduled to take place at 166-pounds, but whether or not it actually takes place at 166 has not been confirmed.

Taylor pushes Pavlik rematch

Friday, November 02, 2007 Joe Maxse

Plain Dealer Reporter
The best laid plans of promoters and managers often fall apart. But it's usually not because a boxer wants to call his shots.
However, former middleweight champion Jermain Taylor has done just that by invoking the rematch clause in his contract with Youngstown's Kelly Pavlik. It looked to be a lock that Pavlik, who stopped Taylor in the seventh round of their dramatic title bout on Sept. 29, would get to defend his title at least once before having to take on Taylor again.
Pavlik was set to meet Ireland's John Duddy in late January or early February. But Taylor surprised just about everyone by wanting the non-title rematch at the catch weight of 166 pounds.

Pavlik cuts arms in home mishap

Friday, November 09, 2007Joe Maxse
Plain Dealer Reporter
Middleweight boxing champion Kelly Pavlik cut his arms and hands in a window-cleaning accident at his home on Tuesday. One report had the Youngstown fighter needing 108 stitches. However, according to his trainer Jack Loew, the injuries were minor.
"He'll be fine," Loew said Thursday. "From what I understand, he was cleaning the window sill in the kitchen, slipped and tried to catch himself. But there were no tendons, no bones, no muscles hurt."
Loew said Pavlik was not scheduled to begin serious training for a rematch against Jermain Taylor until the second week of December. He said the cuts will require approximately three weeks to heal.
