Kelly Pavlik (official thread)

Aaaaahhhh!!! Y-Town is going fucking crazy. Motherfuckers want some of this? Hahaha! Seems Pavlik is going up a weight class. From the word around town is that he has to starve himself to reach this weight. Got really worried in the second. Hug him! Get away! He survived! Then he put a motherfucker to sleep! Y-Town has another Champion!

Brass balls on Kelly. He just showed what being a champion is all about. Great fight, not just because of the Ohio flavor to it, but a great, great all around fight by both men. Taylor fought well, he just was not expecting Kelly to be the bull that he was. Just a great day for the city of Y-town and all of Ohio.

On a side note, I was impressed by the pre-fight docu-story about Kelly and Youngstown. HBO did a nice job.

Yeah, and every time I watch a fight I am reminded of how much of a douche Larry Merchant is. That and why the fuck do they have Lennox Lewis doing commentary. I realize he was a great champion and has definite insight on what is going on in the ring, but the guy can barely put together a sentense that makes any sense. Shit, I thought George Foreman was bad, back in the day. Man Lewis was painful to listen to.

I was there and A. City was going crazy. It was like being in y-town there were so many ohio/pavlik fans! Great night for a slumping town. Pavlik is the real deal. Plus I won 600 bucks playing craps. Excellant weekend for Pavlik and myself.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. ? When Kelly Pavlik woke up in his Bally's hotel room Sunday morning, the first thing he thought about was the previous night's victory.
"It's still surreal," he said in the casino lobby as he left to catch a flight. "After seven years, my dream finally came true.
"And I did it with the help of Youngstown. The support really helped."
