Kareem WaLLker (dismissed from ttun)

that would be very logical.. but one has to ask.. is this kid a mental mess.. is he more problem than the potential benefit
Dude, it's Rutgers, they better take all the help they can get. Beggars can't be choosers. Be happy with the scUM leftovers, and hope this kid can have a decent 600yd year while being closer to home.

But honestly, I can more than likely see him going the FCS route as well. Maybe the FBS level he wasn't ready for. Happens all the time.

I now worry more about between his ears than between the sidelines... This is two MAJOR decisions that create major concerns...
It's not something that's talked about openly, but I got the impression that there were a lot of missteps off the field up north.

I think you have a point, and since he plays the easiest position to recruit, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Of course, they recruit at a pretty low level, so they might not be able to be picky.

Frankly, i just don't think he's a very good rb.

He might get the rivalry. No, not THE rivalry, the other one  I think the biggest downside is how low his floor is, he has looked quite average since 2015 began.
This. I think he's a kid that grew physically very early and plateaued. When he committed to us, wasn't he the number one back in the class? I know he was a 5*. He tumbled precipitously through his SR year and i think fell all the way outside of the top 150. Take away where he started, he's probably a run-of-the-mill 3* kid.

In others words, a typical scUM recruit?

Bingo.
His Senior year film was so average it was unbelievable. He came into Cincinnati and played an Elder team that wasn't all that good and they pretty much shut him down. Most in the stands couldn't believe that this was the #1 RB(at the time) in the nation, and were expecting a show from him. And he looked even more average in camp settings where athleticism is touted. Even with the off the field drama, I couldn't see Rutgers passing on him if he gave them a ring. Rutgers barely gets 3star kids, FROM THEIR OWN STATE, Walker could hit the 2 deep after sitting one year! Their starting RB last year was a cast off from Miami, I would think that Ash would jump at Walker
