Sure some of them were. Good defense causes you to miss more of your open shots, for multiple reasons.

The guys shooting in at least half of the open shots could have taken two or even three dribbles closer to the basket without having had anyone on them, yet the 3s were still launched.

Perhaps some situational awareness is the key - if the shots are falling from the outside, they stop shooting them and start working inside more? Who knows....hopefully the gameplan will allow for this scenario going forward - there are going to be some tired legs in big ten play....

I don't know maybe this makes me feel a little bit better but we still lost the game:(
“Kansas, maybe with the exception of Illinois my first year, may be the best team that’s (come) in here.” — Matta, comparing the Jayhawks with the Illinois team that lost its undefeated season and No. 1 ranking in Value City Arena on March 6, 2005.

It’s obvious, isn’t it? Ohio State has had its two worst shooting games against the two ranked opponents it has played: a .338 field-goal percentage in a loss at Duke and .308 against Kansas. The latter was the fourth lowest by the Buckeyes in Thad Matta’s nine seasons as coach. Given 7-foot Jeff Withey’s presence inside and the fact that Kansas was daring them to, they took nearly half (31) of their field-goal attempts from three-point range and made eight. The Buckeyes have shot 33 percent or less from behind the arc in seven of their past nine games. They also equaled their season high (at Duke) of 23 fouls against Kansas, giving the Jayhawks more free-throw attempts despite them being the road team.
Not Good
