He’ll be gone in 2yrs, he’s going to face an amount of pressure and stress that he could never imagine. If doesn’t win the SEC and make it to the final 4 in year 1, they will want him fired! If he has 2 losses and loses in the 1st round of the CFP(which is realistic and a very good 1st season), they will try and burn his house down, cyber bully his kids and chase his wife around the local Publix. They will make him wish he never left the Pacific NW

Washington athletic director Troy Dannen made an aggressive pitch to keep DeBoer, sources told Thamel, with a new contract that would make him one of the 10 highest-paid coaches in the FBS and more than double his current annual salary of $4.2 million.

DeBoer will owe Washington a $12 million buyout when he leaves. He signed a two-year contract extension through the 2028 season in November.

Just sayin': If all that is true. Washington was offering (at least) $9M a year so you have to wonder just how much Alabama is giving him. It has to be really substantial to cover the $12M buyout. Saban was reportedly making $11.4M a year; however, he had won 7 (6 at Alabama) National Championships.

I can see them giving him $10mil which is what Free Shoes gave Norvell to stay. Which will make his margin for error that much more slim

I'm not saying it's only gonna be 2 years, but this is a bad hire for Bama. DeBoer had one of the most penalized teams in the country. They bought his stock at the peak and it's gonna go down.

Maybe it’s because we’ll have to deal with him, but I wish I shared your optimism that he’ll be a massive failure at Bama.

I see the logic behind it and it makes sense. But I am not totally certain that he’ll fall on his face.

He absolutely won’t live up to Saban, but he might be dangerous still.
