STOCK UP/STOCK DOWN: OHIO STATE OFFENSIVE PLAY CALLING IMPROVES, KICKERS PUT ON BLAST

Meyer voiced his displeasure with Ohio State's kickoff team on Monday, and did not hold back on his opinion of the unit.

"Kickoff coverage is a mess right now. We don't have a kicker that can kick the ball," Meyer said. "If you noticed, one almost went out up in the seats."

Blake Haubeil was given the first opportunity by the Ohio State coaching staff to handle kickoff duties. Walk-on Bryan Kristan was also given a shot on Saturday. Neither performed well, and Meyer said placekicker Sean Nuernberger might get the next chance against UNLV.

I actually thought that Haubeil kicked off much better after Meyer let the walk-on kick one out of bounds.

SEAN NUERNBERGER BREAKS BIG TEN RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE EXTRA POINTS MADE

Another day, another Buckeye breaking records. This time, it's Sean Nuernberger.

With his last extra point, Nuernberger broke the Big Ten record for consecutive extra points made with 142. In his kicking career, Nuernberger has never missed an extra point, dating back to his true freshman season.

The FBS record stands at 233 and is held by Alex Trlica of Texas Tech, so Nuernberger's got a long way to go before reaching that mark.

LUKE FARRELL EMERGES AS LEADER AT TIGHT END, OTHER POSITION BATTLES STILL UNDECIDED AFTER SPRING GAME

While it doesn't figure to be much of a competition, Sean Nuernberger impressed Meyer with his performance during the spring, which culminated with the fifth-year senior connected on all four of his field goal attempts on Saturday. Nuernberger converted on kicks of 40, 42, 47 and 52 yards in the scrimmage, much to the delight of his head coach.

"I am really proud of Nuernberger," Meyer said. "We don't usually talk about kickers, but you saw today, he has been very consistent throughout spring."

STUDENT-ATHLETES TO RECEIVE DEGREES SUNDAY

The 29 summer graduates join 238 current and former student-athletes who earned their Ohio State degree at fall and spring commencement ceremonies in 2017-18. A record 692 Buckeyes were recognized at the annual Scholar-Athlete Dinner in April, while Ohio State had a record 489 Academic All-Big Ten selections and 129 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars. In all, 34 sports ended the year with a grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
