K/P Ben Buchanan (official thread)

The only problem that I've had with Ben's punts is that it seems like it takes him a long time to make the kick. However, that's my own perception, and not something that I've timed from snap catch to kick. It just seems like he's loading up for every punt.

Agree. While I am no puting expert it appears that his delivery takes too long. I will be curious to watch this weekend to see if that is true or not.

Either way the kid has a bright future.

He sure knocked that one out of the endzone against Illinois pretty quick. Another split second and that game could've got a lot uglier.

Personally, I'd rather not get the opportunity to evaluate him for the rest of the season.

I thought he was a punter, not a golfer.

Oh no... Grammar policeman fumbles the sarcasm attempt due to not being able to spell putt

Not sure I got an accurate perception from the South endzone, but it looked like Ben was really booting his punts yesterday. I remember saying to one of my buddies that he was keeping us in that game there in the first half. Really happy about his progression.

73 yard punt in the scrimmage. Nice!

Funny thing about that punt is he was in the back of the endzone and I counted 75 yards, so really about 85 from where he kicked it. Ben was definitely the standout on special teams, he had a great day. Tons of punts in the 5 or 10 with no touchbacks, and big boots when he wasn't trying to pin it in.

Line Drive?
50 yard line drives with bounces can get to 75 yards... however a 50 yard line drive usually gets run back 30 yards for a net 20 yards

I prefer 45 yard punts with 5 second hang times... that culminate with a very nervous returner surrounded by 9 OSU tacklers within 5 ft of the catch.. salivating

just sayin
