Jordan Hicks (Philadelphia Eagles)

Hicks, Ware in a class of their own - Insider - ESPN

Jordan Hicks, OLB, junior, West Chester, Ohio/Lakota
Hicks proved he is as athletic in person as he is on film. He topped the 100 mark in his total SPARQ rating of 102.66. Hicks showed he has the speed, change of direction and leaping ability to warrant all the national attention he is receiving. His nearly 37 inch vertical and 36-foot, 6-inch power ball to go along with a 4.54 40 yard sprint were impressive on a soft indoor field.
Hicks could very well be the most explosive linebacker in the 2010 class. He is fast for his position and has tremendous acceleration. If you want to bring a guy off the edge, Hicks is your man. He is quick off the ball and will not be denied getting to the running down or quarterback. Hicks is being recruited by national powers such as Ohio State, Texas, Southern Cal and Florida. Besides his physical talents, he has a winning personality and is a great leader.

Brian Stumpf: Workout warriors from Cincinnati Nike combine - ESPN

By Brian Stumpf

The 2009 Nike Football Combine tour continued Saturday just outside of Cincinnati, where more than 700 prospects from nine states packed the sixth Nike Combine of the year. While several unknowns emerged as names to watch, it was a pair of highly regarded prospects who more than lived up to the hype.

After a junior season during which he earned Division I all-state honors, West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West linebacker Jordan Hicks has been hotly pursued by schools nationwide, drawing offers from the likes of USC, Ohio State, LSU, Texas, Florida and many more. Some pundits even have called Hicks the nation's top prospect at the linebacker position, and the talented linebacker did nothing to dispel that notion Saturday.

Here's what he (BK) wrote on the free board on Bucknuts: (Jordan Hicks Video Interview - Bucknuts Forum)
"Jordan Hicks Video Interview
I just posted a premium video interview with super linebacker Jordan Hicks who attended the Cincinnati Nike Combine on Saturday. Hicks visited Ohio State with his mother on Friday and tells Bucknuts all about it in the video interview. He calls the visit to OSU a "10" on a scale of 1 to 10. Hicks discusses many other topics including whether or not he will wait and take official visits before selecting a college."
I like the sound of that.

The more I here about this kid the more I want him. Seems like the type of kid that can come in here and make a difference his freshman year on a Big Kat level. Really haven't kept up with him after hearing he was an Ohio kid favoring Texas, but I hope that state pride thing kicks in and he decides to wear the S&G.:gobucks3::gobucks4:

Remember all the other recruits we've lost out to their "home team"? Adams, the CB from Miami, Davis, Wright... Well, guess what, here's a rare Ohio boy that grew up as a fan of a non Mid-West school. Here's one time you hope the home-team advantage will win out in the end. So the home-team disadvantage in reverse. :oh:

Like people have been saying from the beginning.. It ain't over till it's over with Tressel and an in-state kid. Still nervous about this one but if anyone can get him, it's Tressel, and you gotta believe he's pulling all the stops... Gotta keep the Ohio kids at home.

I'm not personally...I have been quite pessimistic about Hicks early on. I will be pleasantly surprised if OSU wins out. I don't think we have no shot but there is just a long way to go. Don't get me wrong though, I think he is the best player in the state outside of Norwell, so he is near the top of my wishlist.

change of thinking needed

Maybe a change of thinking is very much needed. tOSU doesn't take a back seat to anybody. Not now, not ever. tOSU has as much if not more to offer any recruit than any other school. A few recruiting services had tOSU with the no.1 class just signed. 3 apearances in the NC game with a NC trophy. The future has never looked brighter. I'm Buckeye proud.:oh::io::osu::)

With 20 commits already, how many slots does Texas have? The longer this drags on, the better for tOSU....

From a respected Texas guy, coopercougar, on the Scout boards, he said anywhere from 20-25. He said the word is they will wait on Hicks.

He's a good one to listen to from the Texas side. He's a good talent evaluator and doesn't exaggerate things in UT's favor.

Just a FWIW.

Are you saying that the NCAA is going to come in and tell us that we can't sign Hicks because they gave him to us?:shake:
In all seriousness, I think it was Duane that said Hicks is the most complete linebacker coming out of Ohio he has ever seen. That's good enough for me, I hope we pull all the stops to get him here!:osu:
