Ohio State Assistant John Groce is emerging as the top potential candidate at Missouri State
That is my thinking. Why take a job just to become a HC when you can wait a few years and possibly get a job at a school were the basketball program is a fairly good one already and you don't have to completely rebuild. If he is happy here which I think he most definitely is, I think he stays around for awhile.crazybuckfan40;1108727; said:I understand that it is great to have your own team, but he is in a great situation to really get a lot of exposure and is still young and might wait until he gets and offer that he really wants, instead of one that he might not covet...

He's turned down advances from Duquense which is one of worst jobs in the A10 and Murray State which has been a good spring board for coaches to move up. I think he'll hold out for a Xavier, Butler, Dayton, Southern Illinois type opening.
I think that would be too big of a jump for a assistant head coach to get a HC job and a Big 10 or Big East school plus I really don't see any of those head coaches leaving anytime soon especially in the Big 10 unless Carmody gets the boot. I don't think Groce would be interested in moving to Evanston. I think one of DaytonBuck's jobs or more likely.
