Jimmy Clausen (Baltimore Ravens)

Looking back on this kid, I think he is going to step it up the next two years and have productive/good seasons, but I dont think he will retire with a legacy that really surpasses his brother Casey from earlier this decade. If he is lucky he will put up Brady Quinn numbers, but even I doubt that.

His arm strength doesn't look the same at all from what I saw in high school. It looks like he has to force some of his throws. The fact that this kid was considered the top pro prospect QB coming out of high school since Elway his physical skill set doesnt really set him out. He is physically sound, but nothing incredible.

Comparing him to the equally hyped Barkley and I dont think there is a comparison. While I'm not sure how Barkley will produce in college statistically, but when it comes to physical skills Barkley is much closer to a Elway, Favre, etc type gunslinger.

I found the link from one of the scUM boards.
? Weis said part of junior quarterback Jimmy Clausen?s maturity will have to be demonstrated by not just bailing from the pocket when it collapses. He will need to have the resourcefulness and feel to move anywhere from six inches or three feet in the pocket to give himself the extra window of opportunity to make the necessary throw.
Apparently the 58-sack season has taken a toll on him. :wink2: I thought for sure he was going to win a heisman this year.

When he made his brash limo-exitting claims 3 years ago I did not wish him well. But the Hawaii Bowl? That was the highlight of his college career.

I do miss the days where athletes accomplished something first and thumped their chests second.

Going by the way he acted in his 2.5 minutes of relative fame I'm glad thats all the success he ever had.

Good riddance.

ESPN is reporting that Clausen is going to have a surgical procedure on the ligaments in one of his toes.

Let's wish him the best in the upcoming NFL draft, and be mindful how serious this is for him since his feet only have three toes.
