100% Buckeye thru thick and thin. Wins, loses, high speed chases while drinking vodka, loses too Purdont whatever.

Mr. Tressel. You fucked up. Oh well. Thank you for making me a Diehard Buckeye.

The vest will go down as bad coach in most peoples eyes. Not mine. I'll still hear about it 20 years from now. Fuck it.

No matter how Tressel is remembered outside the fanbase, we'll always look back at his tenure here and realize how great he was. We were blessed to have a coach as successful as he was. Look at his records and accomplishments. Unbelievable.

He was so good that the Big 10 Coach of the Year award was actually for second place on a yearly basis. Seriously.

Didn't even think about that...strange to think he'll go out with never winning that award. I'm sure he's plenty happy with the crystal football and multiple Big Ten Championship trophies. Leave the COY for the sloppy seconds.

Just an exert from Tony Gerdeman who had a lengthy conversation with OSU Football Historian Jack Park today concerning Head Coach Jim Tressel's resignation.

Tressel Resignation "As Big As It Gets" in Ohio State Football History
By Tony Gerdeman

To think that Ohio State will simply pick right up where Tressel left off might be foolish. He took the program to a place where only a select few have had it. So it reasons that only a select few could keep it there.

A BCS National Championship following the 2002 season, and seven Big Ten Titles in his ten years will be his ultimate legacy, but it may be a while before the dust settles and once again allows that legacy to be seen.

"We're losing as good of a football coach as Ohio State will ever have," Park said.

It may just take some time before everybody else begins to realize it.

Props to Tony for the great write up.

I am still am sick by the news.

Thank you Jim Tressel for giving me a National Championship and a 9-1 record against Michigan. As great of a football coach as you are I am proud to say you are an even better human being.

Can't wait until I see you being given the honor of doting the i in the future.

"With coach Tressel, winning...football...was definitely secondary" - Beanie

"To this day, Coach still texts my mom on every holiday...on mother's day"- Beanie

I'll take his word seven days a week over someone getting paid for their story. Maybe that's me, but whatever.

I have felt for a while that Tress should resign, even thought it tears me up to contemplate it happening. I just didn't see anyway for him to stay because there was no way the NCAA was going to exempt him.
I hope Luke is an able replacement.
Thanks Jim, good Luck Luke.

Coop brings up a good point...

Seriously, no one in the nations largest compliance department knew this stuff was going down? Hard to believe.... No matter what happens in the coming months, all fans/members of the university owe JT thanks for falling on the proverbial sword here.
