SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Ohio State coach Jim Tressel's name came up in some media circles on Monday as being a possible candidate for head coach of the Cleveland Browns, who had just fired Romeo Crennel. Tressel said he is not interested.
In fact, he was terse in his responding text message as he otherwise is preparing his Buckeyes for their Jan.5 Fiesta Bowl vs. Texas. He had been asked whether he had any interest whatsoever in the Browns' job.
"No!!" he texted back

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Jim Tressel didn't mind the secret being out for several days that he might use quarterback Terrelle Pryor and Todd Boeckman in the same formation in the Fiesta Bowl against Texas.
"You know, it's true, so I never mind seeing the truth," Tressel said.
Asked if he also thought it gave Texas defensive coaches something to think about, he said, "Maybe."
Actually, Texas coach Mack Brown said it made him chuckle. The third-ranked Longhorns tried something similar earlier this season with junior Colt McCoy and sophomore John Chiles.
"We didn't do it that long and we didn't do it very productively," Brown said. "When I saw (that OSU might try it), I kind of laughed and told (my wife) Sally, 'I hope it works as good for them.' "
