Jim Knowles (DC Penn St.)

God fucking damnit. As far as I’m concerned, State Penn has the best DC in the country and that sucks.

I’m not upset with Jim. He brought us a natty, and if the rumor I heard was true, I understand why his ass was chapped. I’m sure it’ll come out but I’m not gonna say anything unless I can verify with another person in-the-know.
Before year 3 would you have said that? Because I wouldn’t and didn’t.

He can be chapped ass all he likes but Day made necessary adjustments that allowed us to win the title.

Thanks for helping get a natty

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Now his sister is on Twitter saying that he spoke with the defensive players last night, and he was told not to go to the ceremony today.

Imo, the defensive seemed caught off guard by his decision. A lot of sad emojis and posts all over social media from the entire defense…
People need to leave his sister alone. It's not her decision or for her to try to explain

That’s definitely a way to spin what I heard

I was told that Johnson had control over what the dline did no matter what Knowles called, and that resulted in confusion, anger and an inevitable rift. The specific example was “Knowles would call 1 on 1 on the outside and expect the dline to rush, but Johnson would have the ends drop into coverage instead”

I don’t know the normal hierarchy of playcalling, but the way it was described to me sounds pretty dumb.

EDIT: I’ll also add that the defense was awesome, and it’s unfortunate that a rift developed at all. From my eyes, whatever the problem was behind the scenes seems to have been rectified the second that Oregon game ended. You’d think a natty would calm hard feelings.

One other thing - I’m not a source of news, I just happened to have lunch with someone today who is

I wouldn't be surprised if he had some automy going by the talks earlier this season. The question is what was the change after Oregon. It was assumed Knowles won but now there is some noise it was opposite. Maybe sour grapes. But if end of year was Knowles I'd sacrifice 1-2 years of Larry for that but perhaps the damage was already done

Yeah, but she also doesn't have to engage on twitter

When you wade into the swamp, you best be real careful about the gators.

She's going to defend her family if people take shots at him to her.

Pretty much. She's better off logging off and ignoring it. But I get why she can't resist protecting family. Even if family screws up. You can call them out but others is not ok.
His sister is not helping herself at all! And is starting to seem IMo, like she really likes this attention and notoriety from so many people online. Social media “fame” is an addictive drug like regular fame. This woman has no ties to any school other than her brother and is going out of her way to interact with a fanBase who is known to turn and become vitriolic. At this point, her brother has taken the job with Ped St, yet she still continues to egg on OSU fans and spread her narrative. I don’t believe that Knowles wanted to go today. And I don’t believe he told anyone on staff or players either. Coaches don’t just ignore and not acknowledge other coaches after they win the biggest game of their careers. Her page All day is retweeting at OSU fans, she knows what she’s doing and its immature and idiotic

Yeah, we’ve known about the rift between LJsr and Knowles for a while. But many figured LJsr would leave before Knowles
