Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

No point in stating how pissed I am that Nike has now gotten it's mitts on The Game and on the Ohio State Jersey. It is, as someone pointed out earlier, all about the Benjamins.

I'm not one to say that if fucked up jerseys buy new pads for the field hockey team I'm for it.

This is fucked up. It has no relationship to the 42, 54, 57 championship teams. It has everything to do with gross profiteering, crass commercialism.

It is anything but a "throwback" but it is indeed a throw up.

And while I'm at it: What the fuck is wrong with gray? It's what separates Ohio State from all the red and white/red and black teams. It's distinctive, unique and most of all beautiful.

As for the bull shit about not having room for the old stripe pattern on the new jerseys take a look at the Steelers/Hawkeye/Green Bay unis...

So. Is this an old fart/ new kid argument? Can we determine if this discussion over the jerseys/unis/desicretion is based on age.

I check in at 66 and if you haven't noticed I consider this to be an abomination. It's almost (please note that I said, "almost") enough to make me hope the Bucks get their ass kicked in Ann Arbor for going along with this.

Money does not justify everything Bernie Madoff.

Lachey, Krenzel & co summed it up best. They don't have a problem with it, but call it what it is... jersey sales, not a tribute. They paid $26 million for the right to order OSU around like this, unfortunately.

Didn't go all the way back, so this may have been posted. But here is the list of each team w/ new unis and who they will be playing against, and that teams sponsor. Coincidence??

Virginia Tech at Maryland (Under Armour)
TCU vs Utah (Under Armour)
Ohio State at Michigan (Adidas)
Florida State at Maryland (Under Armour)
Oklahoma at Texas Tech (Under Armour)
Florida vs Florida International (Adidas)
Texas at Texas A&M (Adidas)
LSU vs Arkansas (Adidas)
Missouri vs Kansas (Adidas)
Miami at South Florida (Under Armour)

I take it "This uniform is more than a uniform."

Fred Flintstone must like Nike.

I just think it's telling that Nike stipulated it had to be the Michigan game and OSU didn't not pick that game (was not OSU's decision as reported by Ken Gordon). Adidas school.

And "This uniform is more than a uniform."

Agree with every word.

The only silver lining for us old farts is that we will be dead soon enough.
