For a heads up....If you are looking to get one of these "throwback" jerseys, I've got the inside scoop at College Traditions (on Lane) since I work there. We will be getting 30 total of the jerseys and will be put out for sale next Sunday November 15th. We can't put them on hold or prepurchase the jersey, so if you want one bad enough, you need to get to the store right about when we open up next Sunday since they will go fast.

Do you have an idea yet for the pricing of the jerseys, or is that something you won't know until you actually receive them?

Yeah right...they'll probably be twill replica. Authentics are in the mid $100's and if this bad boy was Authentic, it'd probably be more like $200.

Although, my definition of authentic is what they wear on the field. Everything else is replica. The twill jerseyes have "Authentic" on the tag but I don't see those as authentic.

What I'm basically going for is a jersey that has the numbers sewn on, not the ones that have them ironed on.

yea it would have made a weak game a little more intriguing. michigan doesn't really need this.

tho i heard the ten teams nike chose to do this with were all playing adidas teams the same day.

Authentic = What they wear on the field (most expensive ~$150)
Twill = Sewn on numbers (In the middle expense wise ~$75)
Screen Print = Ironed on numbers that fall apart (least expensive ~$60)

I like the helmet, even if it's not a perfect replica of a specific year -- I'm not going to get all Star Trek geeky about it. Same with the pants. They look sharp. I like the fact that the jersey has some gray on it, and I'm hoping that it's just the camera phone that make the numbers look kind of washed out. Nike probably left that spirograph stitching on the shoulders to emphasize whatever "feature" that is. Not too appealing, but I wouldn't say that it ruins the whole thing.

Yeah, it's "inspired by a true story" and not a documentary. It's also one game, so I think people should save poor Gene Smith the wrath of the Buckeye Nation for one week. I'm sure he's still sorting through all of the "Fire Bollman!111!1" emails he's been getting since the USC game.

I'm wondering if this portends any uniform changes to the real uniform for next year. Gray stripes on the sleeves? One can only hope.
