Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

Those jerseys suck.

I really, really, really like our current road uniforms...like a lot.

I don't mind a throwback, I suppose, but make it legit. That jersey is awful...embarrassing.

It looks like a prototype mock up to me. Probably not the finished project.

Rumor on 97.1 is tOSU and scUM are wearing throwbacks from Les Horvath's era and the picture is bogus.

This rumor is true. The NCAA picked several rivalry games this year to wear "throwback" uniforms and tOSU vs. Mich was one of the games that was chosen. People around the WHAC have known about this for quite some time.

Not sure of the year the "throwbacks" will come from, but Les Horvath's era may indeed be correct.

sounds like its false now..

The rumor mill got rolling after ESPN.com's Pat Forde hinted on Tuesday that the Buckeyes might soon break out silver jerseys. The "word has it" innuendo escalated, and suddenly the "silver bullet" break-out game would be at Michigan. Reportedly, even jersey maker Nike was playing coy, neither confirmning nor denying that a deal was done.

Well, rest easy, OSU fans -- or be disappointed cutting edge clothing designers -- because no alteration to the white "road" jersey is in the works, according to OSU athletic director Gene Smith.

"No" was the simple text message answer from Smith as to whether a silver jersey would be worn with the silver pants and silver helmet.

Football sports information director Shelly Poe explained that the jersey rumor is just that.

"There are about 10 versions (of the story) out there right now," she said, adding that none was accurate.

So expect the Buckeyes to be wearing their white shirts when they travel to Ann Arbor on Nov. 21.

Well technically all he denied was the silver jersey but Poe seemed more emphatic.

All Poe said was:
"There are about 10 versions (of the story) out there right now," she said, adding that none was accurate.

"None of the 10 versions of the story were accurate" doesn't in any way equate to the story/rumor being false/refuted.

It still seems a BIT fishy

The NCAA "selected" rivalry games for this to take place in? Since when does the NCAA get involved in jerseys that are separately contracted out, they have no real influence over the contracts (As opposed to the NFL where its the league that works out the contracts for the all teams). Also why have we not seen any in rivalry games so far?

Ohio State and Michigan, 2 schools that have 2 different competing companies sponsoring their jerseys both just decided to do this?

Obviously the picture is what gives this thing legs

Going away from the silver pants was a huge mistake. The sleeve stripes are worthless. What year was it the jerseys looked ......pink? Arg!
