We were wearing silver pants during this year's spring game...they looked really good and matched up with the helmets.

The silver pants weren't see-through. If we can have silver helmets instead of gray ones, then we can have matching silver pants (minus the metal-flake, of course). Now, if we absolutely need to have gray pants, at least make them gray, instead of that faded-white bullshit color we have now.

At least the pants are bright white in the sunlight like they were in 05 & 06. They're still an awful light shade of grayish tan, but it's not quite as bad.

I'm thoroughly convinced Nike just doesn't care whether colors match, as long as it's good enough. There are so many uniforms where the jersey and helmet colors are completely different, far more than just variances in material (cloth vs painted helmets).

05 was the beginning of the downfall, 04 was the last year for the silver pants.

I still want to know what a very light silver number looks like in person on the jersey. If we can't have it for football (to keep with tradition), would nike please let the prominent gray school have them in bball instead of the orange and white team? :smash:

Ehh, thats the Buckeyes I know. I'm just 22, but growing up in Columbus I loved going to sit in C Deck and watch the Buckeyes play. The blue sky, the grass field, the sparkle on the helmets and pants.

Go back to the over-sized numbers if you're going to change the uni's:

Yup. Not a fan of the dainty little numbers on the shoulder tops. I'd understand it if they were on the outside by the arm, but bigger is better. You don't have to go Eddie Nuts with them (though that was classic), but the opposite is a lot worse.

They did seem to change the cut of the jersey a little bit since 06, when the new helmet stripe was a bit more angled in how it sat on the shoulder pads. Now it sits low and horizontal like intended.

The problem with it sitting low is the already miniscule stripe (since the scarlet & black stripes blend in to the scarlet jersey), it becomes even less prominent.

Personally, I loved the original 1890s unis.

Plus, I was able to buy replicas for less than $1 back then.
