Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

Couple 'Rivalry' shirts/hats hitting the interwebs, including Football Fanatics.

Nothing on The Buckeye Corner or official OSU websites. They're both run by Lids so will have the same stock in most cases.

This one is somewhat snarky:

I hate the 50/50 bullshit they try to pull between modern designs and throwbacks.

It's obviously just a marketing ploy to get old people who don't give a damn to buy these uniforms because they are "tributes" to various things that are old (assuming that young people are already going to buy because look! shiny!!1!).

Either do a throwback uniform that is a replica of a previous design or do a new, modern design that looks good.

I think the biggest flaw with this new design is the all white pants (as others have pointed out) and if that is because they are doing some stupid thing about the snow bowl than that is pumpkin stupid.

It's like they either 1) come up with the justification after the fact because the design is off in some way or 2) the justification forces them to make design decisions that are shitty.

Either way, it makes the product worse and is stupid.

OK, some more info on the Nike Free Trainer 5.0s:

They'll release this Friday, 22 November at Nike Yardline stores and "select" Champs Sports stores. Trying to pin down what the second half of that statement actually entails.

Nike Yardline stores are in:
Cherry Hill, NJ (Cherry Hill Mall)
Wayne, NJ (Willowbrook; been away from that area for 4 months and this is the first time I regret it)
Minneapolis (Mall of America)
Tampa (Westshore Plaza)

From Nike's press release:

The team's rich legacy and history of the 1950 “snow bowl” serve as the core inspiration
Athlete names across the back are showcased in black.

Grrrrr.

Like I said before, making some sort of spurious connection to things that are nostalgic is their strategy for getting old people to buy it.
