Arkansas was selected to the Sugar Bowl before Ohio State, so therefore Arkansas serves as the "Home Team"

we wore the scarlet in 2007. But we were still the away team. I like the whites in the bowl games.

We were the home team officially for title game against LSU.


I think Tressel is just a bit superstitious with the white, (I mean we are talking about a guy who wears sweater vests to every game). I figure that we would have worn the white against LSU too, but accommodated their stronger preference towards wearing the white jersey all the time. Not sure what the deal with the Alamo Bowl was.

Wouldn't have mattered versus LSU. They almost always wear white jerseys, home and away.

You laugh, but I wouldn't put it past the current athletic department to auction them off on the athletics website as game-used equipment.

It's interesting that Ohio State is the only school left (participated in all three years of Nike Pro Combat uniforms).

There were a few schools that did it the first two years:

Year 2 (Carryovers)
Florida
Miami
Ohio State
TCU
Virginia Tech

But OSU is the only school to carryover to Year 3.

OSU should really just purge this story (from 2009), not that I trust one damn thing Gene Smith says (sometimes accountants don't make good CEO's).

Did you know a couple of seasons ago Miami put an ad in the Miami Herald and online for seasons tickets starting at $99?

I don't know what the current rate is, but that caught my eye when I saw it (considering that's basically the cost of one game at OSU).

See the miami thread (for 2011). It hasn't increased much.
