Exactly. The field of stars gets the position of honor, which on a person or vehicle is on the top toward the direction of forward motion.

Don't listen to all the revisionist justifications....it's because God created lower creatures to walk the earth which He called Soldiers. He dressed them (something He's had to do ever since) in trousers too short, covers too large and pockets in which to warm their hands. To adorn these uniforms, He gave them ribbons and patches and stars and bells and cords and emblems and crests and shiny devices that glitter and dangles that dangle.

And over them all he placed commanders with chairs for bottoms and pencils for fingers cursed with an obsessive need to tinker and fiddle with their costumes but never able to get them to look properly squared away.

My vote, also, would be to stick to the regular uniforms for a few years.

Special uni's are just marketing Nike, and has about as much effect as painting racing stripes on your car.

It's bad enough the basketball team is wearing culottes.

They shouldn't EVER be worn during THE game..period. You can save them for other games on the schedule. Thankfully though they don't really have many other eras that they can "pay tribute to" and the AD better put their foot down when it comes to just making up new uni looks for them to sport

I like throwback uniforms. Sure some are hideous (the brown and yellow Broncos throw backs with the vertical striped socks from a couple of years ago) some are sweet as hell (The 1961 Reds uniforms they wore during the Civil Rights game two years ago or even the 1940's era they wore this year)...these rank somehwere in the middle. I'll buy one because they weren't that bad, they represent an era and generation that, sad to say, will be gone from this earth very soon, and they are unique to The Ohio State University. Just my opinion...nobody kick my ass for it. :)

Since the front of the jersey resembles a bar code, it is easy, to make a "bar code" for the numbers.

My wife made a similar comment when I was watching the Miami Redhawk game.

She said it looked like they were wearing capris.

Savor the irony- Nike's Sugar Bowl shirts are of the Block O Gloves. Wearing them is automatically a penalty... although, we are playing an SEC team, so I'm sure it will be pretty much ignored.
