There are some words which I have known since I was a schoolboy. "With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably." These words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie -- as a wisdom, and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged.

Fucking Trekkies

Which brings up a joke...

The American Secretary of Defense was an an international conference, and he was speaking with his Saudi counterpart. At a lull in the conversation, the Saudi piped up and said, "Mr. Secretary, the one American television program my son loves is Star Trek. But he's made an observation that he wanted me to raise with you."

"My son has noticed that there are no Arabs on Star Trek and this bothers him very much. After all, there are Russians and Scotsmen and Chinese, even Indians on Star Trek, but no Arabs. Why is that, Mr. Secretary?"

The American thought for a moment before leaning over and responding, "Because it takes place in the future."
