Luers junior Jaylon Smith scored on a seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Knights a 7-0 lead. Smith would score two more touchdowns in the second frame as Luers built a 21-0 lead at half.

Luers rolls through Tipton

Four plays after the Tipton score, Knapke completed a back-shoulder throw to Jaylon Smith down the sideline, and Smith took it 54 yards to give Luers the lead again. On the ensuing kickoff, Nick Morken laid a thunderous smack on the return man, Jake Dye, the football flew backward and Luers recovered at the 15.

I missed his teams state title game but I did catch his interview afterwards. "Wow" doesn't come close to describing how I felt watching that. EXTREMELY impressive young man.
