James “not elite” Franklin (HC Penn St. Nittany Lions)

I for one think Coach Franklin is absolutely right to spend as much time as it takes this week to focus on his new opportunity, whether that means contract negotiations or searching for assistants for the new gig. He owes it to his family to focus on the future. No looking back.
Not sure Jimmy’s lack of focus will really hurt PSU this week. The guy kind of sucks at coaching anyway.

I just don’t get this.

not elite, but good luck to whoever ends up writing that check

Guys, he’s completely focused on the next game… or at least I think that’s what this stupidity is supposed to imply.

The guy is so full of shit.

Last time I checked guys 100% focused on winning the next game aren’t hiring new agents mid-season.

Is he trying to enter the Matrix with that Tweet?

Which makes you wonder about where this program is headed now under James Franklin. It's more than just a tough quarterback injury issue. Or a one-game, bad loss issue.

Because for all of the impressive recruiting and overall progress, you can't help but feel things have hit a wall after seven years. You should be able to avoid back-to-back losses to badly flawed Iowa and Illinois teams to ruin your season hopes before Halloween.

It's a distressing and unexpected place to be in when you seemed to be rolling toward a 6-0 start before your quarterback got hurt. A team who's biggest problem may have been keeping its head coach from fleeing to some place more enticing, like Southern California.
