I agree, but take a drive from Cincinnati to Columbus to Cleveland and then look at the 2016 election results - same story.

You must've never heard of Akron, Canton, Dayton, Toledo, etc. A far cry from PA, which basically consists of the two cities mentioned. Are there rural areas in Ohio? Of course--just as there are in every state.

As someone who lives in a small Ohio town, I think it's important to point out that just because someone lives in a rural farming community, they should not automatically be classified as a racist, homophobic asshole.

Exactly what I would expect a racist, homophobic asshole to say!

So how many times has the KKK come to a High School in rural Ohio and recruited?

I've lived in both states for about equal amounts of time in my life. Ohio is a much better place to live. Election results have literally nothing to do with it.

Came for this shit talk about play calling, staying for the KKK talk.

Buckeye Planet - you never leave me bored.

It was surreal. I was so glad to be moving to Ohio within the next month after that point.

Social media has allowed me to stay in touch with a few people from there - some of the stuff I see makes me feel very lucky to have been able to move.

I was going to point out that said PA town raised both of us, but then I realized that probably just strengthens your point about its shortcomings.

This town had a popular restaurant named the Keystone Kountry Kitchen.

Aggy is going to sue. That's their invention.

This. And anyone who has spent any time in Western PA can attest that the circle around Pittsburgh is very small before you are back in Bama.
I’ve never admitted to this on BP until now. My dad grew up in the backwoods outside of Pittsburgh. Thank god he had the smarts to matriculate to tOSU in the early 50s where he met an Ohio farm girl and the Buckeye legacy was born and multiple tOSU graduates followed.

Unfortunately my nephew and his wife are now Professors at PSU.....WTF happened there....

Meh, my aunt was arrested for staging a protest on premise at Ft Benning... twice. You can pick your nose, and your friends... you’re stuck with your family.

The profs are usually "expats", so they're not in the cult. They actually kinda roll their eyes at how insular the natives are.
