Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

So all this investigation delay has been to determine if she floats?

Nah, Zuul sees all & declared her guilt. The wait has been while Bobby Bowden was being fitted for his priestly vestments so he can officiate properly.

My question: Is there any way on Earth that anyone would announce their findings at a press conference if they actually intended to arrest and charge someone with a crime?

I could see it playing out like the Big Ben incident--where they essentially say they think he did something wrong, but decided they can't prove it. Wonder what the fallout from that would be?

The real question that will need answered in this thing is whether or not the rape kit showed actual signs of rape.

I don't care if some teammate and sorostitute said they were making out all night or whatever. If she immediately went to the hospital and there were signs of trauma, then he should be charged and a jury can discern the he said/she said portion.

I can imagine one really obnoxious (for us) sequence of events: They do charge him, and he is therefore suspended from the team. FL State goes to the NC regardless, and OSU defeats them. Subsequently, JW is tried and found innocent. Deja vu the Cryami "Bad call! Bad call!" story all over again. Whine whine...we wuz cheated...JW shoudda been in the game...you only won because...blah blah.

Not that any Buckeye fan would really give a monumental fill-in-the-expletive-of-your-choice-here, but it would be annoying to have the talking heads finding a way to attach yet another asterisk to an OSU championship.

The other side of this that will be interesting to see is, suppose they do say the case was too sullied by mishandling to be successfully prosecuted, they therefore won't pursue it, but do indicate they believe he was guilty. Will there be apologists for FSU if they don't suspend him under those circumstances?

If they did come out and say that he did something, it wouldn't be an arrest they are after. It would just be charges filed. They aren't going to chase him down and put him in handcuffs.
