Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

So Jameis Winston's close friend makes a bet 14x his normal high limit on a game involving Jameis Winston.

He wins because, as fate would have it, Jameis had the worst first half of his life.

Bookie being a bookie smells something rotten in Denmark (and probably tells Winston friend to EABOD on collecting the winnings)

Nothing to see here I am sure. This kind of stuff just simply doesn't happen on Jimbo Fishers watch or with a kid with Winston's character. No way.

Scamming illegal sports book operations. What could possibly go wrong?

Now, as much as I desperately and cravenly need want this to be true, I'll withhold my enthusiasm until the story picks up legs by a journalist not named Incarcerated Bob.

And BTW, if Jameis is playing in Canada next year, then you know the NFL investigators found something of substance here. And while the NFL investigators may not know how to execute a simple FOI request with the NJ police, you can bet they know how to look into gambling accusations. You can rape and kill and beat the living shit out of your girlfriend in the NFL, but you better not be in collusion with gambling figures because that'll--you know--call into question the integrity of the game.

It's not even scamming one. Scamming insinuates some intelligent deception. This is the dumbest fucking thing you can try.

I mean JFC, "hey boss, Jimmy fucking $400 wants to put $5K down on a single game. What's that? Yeah it's a 1st half bet against a team that happens to be QB'd by his buddy." I'm amazed that they didn't beat his dumb ass half to death for even thinking about pulling this mickey mouse bullshit.

It's like the two dudes in Snatch that robbed Bricktop's bookie.

Just galacticly stupid.

If true, the question now becomes what does Jameis have to do to buy his way out of the pig farm? He's just made a nemesis.

I've done some stupid ass shit in my life but attempting to cheat a bookie--who somewhere up the food chain answers to and funnels money to the mob--would have been inconceivable even to dumbass 19 year old me.

The narrative on this seems to be that his friend requested a little help in winning a bet.

What if this has been happening all along and the friend just now got in on it?

Winston has consistently under performed in the first half all season with remarkable turn-arounds coming out of the locker room.

Ivan Maisel has pointed out that Winston leads FBS with a 75% completion rate on third down when trailing in the second half.

They trailed NC St at the half (two interceptions)
They trailed ND at the half (one interception)
They trailed Louisville at the half (three interceptions)
And they were tied with Okie St at the half (two interceptions)
These are all wins if you are betting against yourself.

This from an undefeated defending NC team.
And all this from a kid who has proven to have zero character.
