JaMarcus Russell (Thread Of Obesity and Codeine)

LSU Freek's blog. It's long overdue for someone at Comedy Central or a late night talk show to hire him for his stream of greatness:

Well with the old regime, I would have said the Browns will call in 5...4...3...2...1...

Oakland Raiders release JaMarcus Russell - ESPN

No, the Browns have always been one step above the Raiders on the QB food chain. The Raiders will gladly take the Browns' leftovers, but not vice versa.

I have no idea where Russell might go from here. I don't think they'll even let you play in Canada if you get cut by the Raiders.

I think the AFL will still let me him.

Ochocinco claims that the Bengals are bringing in JaMarcus Russell | ProFootballTalk.com

Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, who launched the Ocho Cinco News Network last year as part of a brilliant personal marketing campaign, has dropped a very strong hint regarding the next destination of former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

Ochocinco says to Russell, "I'll see you at minicamp" and then, "Oops, did I just leak that info?" (Which is dangerously close to, "Did I do that?" . . . which makes us think that Chad perhaps should be doing the Urkel on Dancing with the Stars.)

In response, ESPN's Adam Schefter claims that the Bengals and others have called Russell, but that "there are no plans for him to be at any minicamps now."

If the Bengals sign Russell, it fits with their M.O. of finding bargains. Though the Bengals have a franchise quarterback in Carson Palmer, some think that an elbow injury that plagued him in 2008 was still bothering him in 2009.
