Jalen Hurd (RB Tennessee, transfer to Baylor)

It is terrible. Lower level in Tennessee, where even the higher levels aren't great.

I saw someone said he did not play against a single player who received an FBS offer last year. That would be almost impossible even at the lowest levels of Ohio high school football.

394 yards and 7 TDs in a state title win is insanely good, regardless of how poor the level of competition is. Those are Madden on rookie-level numbers.

He only wants to play RB? Wont that work against us? He seems like more of an athlete than pure RB, unless we take him and another RB for 2014, but I thought numbers would be too tight for 2qbs and 2rbs

I'm okay with Hurd lining up at RB. Rivals shows him as 12 lbs heavier than Ezekiel. Saban offered him, and I doubt it was for pivot. Bringing in a big back might have to wait till 3 extra scholarships are available in 2015. If Hurd can also run outside well, all the better.

WOW...didn't see that one coming. Thought we were in good shape here.

Tennessee is building a lot of recruiting momentum, and have another big recruiting weekend coming up. Don't be surprised to see them land another big player or two this weekend (that may also be Buckeye targets).

Jones has a lot to work with. New facilities, very appealing depth chart, the SEC, and a change to "bring the program back."

He's already in Tennessee's two-deep. At OSU he is behind Smith, Dunn, Ball, Elliott. Smart move based on the depth charts.

This. I would have absolutely loved to have Hurd in this class. I think he is an absolute stud. That being said, we have done an exceptional job getting very talented running backs the last few years and are very deep at the position. Tennessee on the other had has not had nearly that level of success, and the chance to come in and be "the guy" for the hometown team is tough to turn down.
