I don't think they were in jail. They were released on bond shortly after the charges. So they spent the last three years in jail and were innocent from the beginning. Who pays for the time they lost being incarcerated? That's fucking brutal!
EDIT: I am one of the biggest supporters of hanging rapists, pedophiles and abusers so the fact that these guys didn't do what they were accused of is fantastic. Someone though, has to pay the price.
ok cool. Couldn't really stomach going back through this thread to read all of that again.I don't think they were in jail. They were released on bond shortly after the charges.
‘22 would have been his sixth year, with a redshirt in ‘17, and a free year in ‘20. So, doubtful he has any eligibility remaining.Obviously hope the jury got this right and sounds like the key piece of evidence was Amir being able to show similar conduct with previous sexual encounters and investigators confirming they were in fact consensual (recording multiple women over course of time saying they were consensual encounters).
Probably indelicate, but curious if Amir continues his playing career elsewhere. Based on Covid he’d have 3 years of eligibility and he showed some promise as a sophomore and was likely a starting CB for OSU if not for this situation. I’d imagine there’s a handful of coaches that’d take a chance (let him reacclimate to football next year almost in a red-shirt capacity) and then let him rip in 2024……..have no idea if pursuing football is even something he’s considering so just conjecture on my part.

He didn't play his Jr or Sr season. And he's eligible for a free Covid season. He has a lot of eligibility left based on all sorts of shit that happened while he was sidelined.
He still had a RS-Jr and then Senior season to play. But also throw in a free Covid year. He still has 3 years of eligibility if he wants it. Those Covid years are amazing....
That‘s not how it works. Once you start your eligibility clock (2017 in this case), you can only pause it for military service or a Mormon mission. He didn't play his Jr or Sr season. Please cite an example. I’m aware of nothing similar extending an NCAA eligibility clock. This isn’t true in a case like Amir’s and it’s played out in other similar situations…
After taking a look, both Amir and Jahsen are officially in the transfer portal, so my assumption is they’d like to resume playing careers. Will be interesting to see how their remaining eligibility plays out…..and where.

Riep entered the transfer portal in November 2021 after recording 33 tackles, six pass breakups and three interceptions between 2017-19.
Wint entered the transfer portal last February after recording 39 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack in 35 games from 2017-19.
