Jackson "L" Carman (OL Cincinnati Bengals)

We backed away from Parsons. We did not back away from Carman.

We went head to head with Clemson for an Ohio kid and we lost. The rest is just spin.

I guess my "spin" is I don't mind the outcome. This kid rubs me the wrong way. Now I won't feel compelled to root for him.

So wait now that his thread is in here I can really say what I want right?

I hate his hair. Absolutely hate it. It looks ridiculous
Hopefully that is the worst thing any Ohio State fans say about Carman today. Thanks to all the social media our worst negative recruiting may come from the fans themselves.

oh well this is interesting. maybe its not just penn st negative recruiting
I would negative recruit the hell out of every coach/program if I was UFM...

Hey Jackson you don't want to go to Clemson... I have good sources that have told me Dabo likes to tuck his weenie between his legs. You don't want to play for that kind of man Jackson.

Also of note.. he has a last name as a first name and a first name as a last name. Truly did things against the grain and his way lol

I don't know this kid anymore than most posters here. What I do know is that his public behavior did not impress.

I think this is two headaches that Ohio State dodged. Good luck to the kid.

Wow, this thread became so full of sour grapes! Dabo used a great recruiting strategy to pluck an OH kid from OH. Kudos. OSU still has the #1 class and one kf the best HCs in history. Im kind of flattered that other coaches feel a need to "negatively recruit (though I don't think this was that bad) against OSU.

Or.... people could have been waiting until it moved out of the recruiting forum.

I guess we'll never know

Not sure I'd call negative recruiting "great strategy" especially when Dabo didn't have to dig all that far to find a "win" or two over Meyer.

Agree here. It's funny, to the extent there has been any "crying" by our fan base, it's like being upset we watched Ohio State beat a team 35-13 but spend all week complaining it was 56-10

Im kind of flattered that other coaches feel a need to "negatively recruit (though I don't think this was that bad) against OSU.
Wouldn't go with "flattered," but I guess that's one way to look at it.

Same. Like I said, I never expected him to be a Buckeye. Something just seemed "off" about his entire recruiting journey. Like he wanted to go his own way and not sign with the home school, which is totally fine.

One thing though, and if people want to read this as sour grapes that's fine...one of the benefits of the "social media age" is that some of these kids' personalities/agendas are laid out very openly for everyone to see. His calling out of Barrett after the OU game was piss poor judgement, IMO. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but calling out a guy that is clearly extremely popular with his teammates and coaches could make for some uncomfortable situations if he would have ended up here. Does that mean he would be a bad teammate/have attitude issues here? Not necessarily, but it's not something that you can just look past when you try to cultivate an environment of brotherhood, etc...
