JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

This is astonishing really. You mean to tell me McShay doesn't think Jabrilllll is that talented? Blasphemy. Did McShay not see him play offense too where he ran the wildcat four times per game?

This is just too new to me. Who would have ever imagined that Jabrillll wasn't that talented? You never saw anyone around here with that opinion.

Ok too late at night for me to go into search mode, but the Bengals dropped a kilo's worth of bucks on the multi-talented kid from FSU, Peter Warrick. Kid ran all over the field in college, a game breaker. Turned out to be a decent receiver/returner in the pros, but never showed that difference maker ability. I see Gerbilll the same mode. decent receiver/returner, but not a game breaker.

He also had Akili Smith, Scott Mitchell, Jon Kitna and Gus Frerotte throwing him the ball. Had he still been around for the Palmer era, I think he would have been much more productive.

I see a Desmond Howard ceiling with, potentially, worse defensive skills.

Warrick was a HUGE producer in college. The fact that he wasn't huge in the NFL could be because of several factors- the talent around him, the scheme used, or maybe he just wasn't good enough. Who knows. But at least he wasn't just an athletic phenom, he actually was a producer in college. Peppers hardly produced anything in college. Other than being really athletic, I don't see similarities.

Why'd I make the comparison between Gerbill and Warrick? Because Warrick was moved all over the field by Bowden, QB, running back, wide out - kind of a hybrid before hybrid was created. Like Warrick, Gerbill showed flashes of being an excellent open field runner, decent receiver, capable running back. Warrick was unbelievable at times at FSU, but his top end speed seemed to me to keep him from being a fantastic NFL player. My opinion, and only an opinion, he didn't have breakaway speed. He could break ankles and get away, but I didn't see him get in the end zone consistently once he got past someone. I remember seeing him get caught from behind. I think Gerbil suffers from the same lack of a top gear. On offense, he demonstrated the ability to get away, but he got caught from behind a great many times. I question that he has enough speed to play safety and just forget about corner. I see him on special teams and the offense, and I sure don't see him going in the first round, but then again the browns and bengals have shown an alarming ability to make yuge mistakes on draft weekend.

I don't see Peppers as anything. Ultimately he's an uber athlete, not a football player. He won't be in the league long.

Warrick belonged at those positions though
