JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

No he's already really good at that.

NFL teams care very little about production at the college level. Otherwise, Scooby Wright and Trevone Boykin would've been a first round picks.

NFL teams care about measurables, and Jabrill doesn't have the measurables - too small for LB, too slow for safety (and at 205 pounds listed weight, maybe even a bit small for safety as well).

After the Combine, I will compare Jabrill's measurables to some recent first/second round picks like Darron Lee and Landon Collins. Should be interesting....
I'd agree with you here, but the ghost of Elvis (Dumervil) haunts us both.

(Although strictly speaking Elvis didn't leave the building till the 4th round)

I just did a google and couldn't find it, so I must have heard it on the radio scUM week. Someone asked Urban what he thought of Peppers and Urbs said something like, "He's about what we thought of him when we recruited him in High School, a pretty good return man." Wish I could find something confirming it though.

So he hasn't improved in three years of college football.

In baseball they call guys who can play many positions utility infielders. If they could hit well enough, they would be called starters. Gerbil reminds me of that.

He's a good ST(D) guy for an NFL team and athletic enough to make a few plays for you if you get him in the right position. The reason he won't be called a starter is that he can't cover well enough to be a full time DB, even in college, and he will never be big enough to be a starting LB.

He would be a 25th man, late inning defensive replacement and pinch runner for a MLB team.

Breathtakingly overrated as a collegian.

Peppers has bad tape and he's not nearly as athletic as many (including a lot of BP'ers) assume. I predict that this kid's stock will plummet after the combine/pro days.

Going back to the preseason, I was totally unable to comprehend the Peppers hype. As this season went on, and his hype grew, I remained at a loss. I watched several of their games, he never once stood out for anything he did on the field. Not one single time. He threw a run-of-the-mill flea-flicker back to the qb and the media replayed it like it was the play of the week.

I have never seen a more overhyped athlete in my life. He makes Dan and Dave look like Gold Medalists (not sure many will get that reference). This extremely ordinary player went to NYC for the heisman ceremony. Fuck the media.

At least now, as some folks start actually watching the games, he's starting to get exposed for the fraud he is.

Well played.
