JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

They continue to waste his energy on defense where, for the most part, he's a liability.
And he contributed a whopping 151 yards on 26 touches (rushing and receiving) or 5.8 yards per touch. That is the definition of mediocre offensive output.

Since they want to throw the comparison out so much, when Woodson was worked into the offense in 1996, he caught 10-139, and ran 6-152, totaling 291 yards on 16 touches, or 18.2 yards per touch.

Hell, when Chris Gamble pulled double duty in 2002, he totaled 548 yards on 34 touches, or 16.1 per.

I'll throw a wildcard out there...Devin Gardner. Yep, good old 98. Yeah, he was an absolute cluster-fuck up north, but his talent shined through at times...especially against us. I think more than anything he was the victim of some absolutely awful coaching, a horrific OL and a sludgefart offense. Now, I don't think he sees the field over Braxton, but it would have been interesting to see what Herman/Meyer could have wrung out of him if given the chance.

Gardner was indeed a solid player who suffered behind some dreadful line play. But he was an even better young man, as he demonstrated by his talk to comfort JT Barrett after JT's awful injury.

It's hard to imagine, and a tribute to his parents, that four years in AA didn't turn him into the entitled little turd pretty much every one of his teammates became.

Deon Sanders didn't try to tackle people either and some say he was good, right?

Deon could cover to make up for his unwillingness to tackle.

Peppers is a very good in the box safety that can't cover worth a damn without holding receivers. He is a man out of time, would have been all world in football days past where that wasn't as frowned upon.

I was thinking in particular of the play where he dove away from JT Barrett to make it look like he was trying but really he wanted nothing to do with making the tackle.

I couldn't find the gif.

He should be a full time running back but I know they just don't have enough quality depth at DB.
No, he shouldn't. Full time running backs aren't guys who are best when they are motioning out of the backfield. He is above average at tailback. He's a good return man, a fast downhill safety (jax nailed it with the in the box commentary ) and an explosive gadget player. He'd make a good h back in OSU's scheme.

Correction to my original statement, he jumped away from Barrett for no reason and then dove at him to make it look like he was trying.
