JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

Very interesting. I didn't realize OSU was so high on his list (at least that's how it seems). Seems like a great kid and great player. I'd assume he is one of the highest priority recruits overall for the Buckeyes.

To have a truly elite defense, you need to have DBs who can lockdown WRs in single coverage and also come up and make a tackle in the running game. Peppers seems like exactly one of those types of players.

I think OSU is something like #5 on his list, but I imagine they're rising fast in his eyes. Meyer is a great recruiter and OSU academically has a lot to offer, so it's entirely feasible that he'd become increasingly enamored once he visits.

As I have stated before.. OSU is a hot entity in Jersey
On Rutgers campuses, OSU clothing is 2nd only to Rutgers gear
OSU scores are continuously broadcast during Rutgers games

And we provide excellent DBs to Columbus

Yeah, I saw he had us 5th in August. I just kind of assumed (hoped?) that maybe we'd moved up a bit since he mentioned us as one of the two schools recruiting him the hardest and also said we were one of the two who would definitely get a visit.

Anyway, nice to at least be solidly in the game for him and we should have a decent case to make. Much closer than Stanford. Some NJ guys like Woodard. A similar NJ player in Malcolm Jenkins who left as a top 15 draft pick. On field success. The one thing that is tough to match is Stanford's academics and that does seem to be a big deal to him.

What a dynamic playmaker on both sides of the ball. So physical and aggressive, with tons of God-given athletic ability to boot. I still like him on the defensive side as a FS or CB but he really makes a case for offense as well. I have him at 1a on my wish list, wish Blanding as 1b...imagine a DB class of Webb, Blanding, Peppers, and Erick Smith to follow Burrows, Apple, Thompson, Lee, Worley, and possibly Bell. One can imagine.

Was actually going to come right into this thread and say Safety. He and Webb, plus a sleeper prospect right now in Erick Smith, would make a pretty incredible Defensive Back class to follow an super stellar one in 2013.

Peppers is not only my #1 as a DB, but I think he is my #1 for the entire class. Follow slightly behind by QB Watson, WRs Harris and Kitt, and LB McMillan.

S- Jabrill Peppers, Paramus (N.J.) Catholic

The Paramus (N.J.) Catholic standout has dominated New Jersey High School football upon his arrival three years ago and this past fall was no different. In leading his team to a state championship, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Peppers moved from cornerback to safety and posted 80 tackles and four interceptions. On offense he added 1,552 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns on just 172 carries. Peppers also caught five touchdown passes. Stanford and Ohio State are the early leaders for Peppers, with Michigan and Notre Dame rounding out the top four. He is ranked by the 247Composite as the country?s top athlete and No. 7 prospect overall.

OSU battling Stanford for the #2 overall player in the country. This has to be a first. I'm accustomed to battling Michigan, Alabama, Florida, USC, etc. but we haven't had to many high profile recruiting wars with the Cardinal.

Just toured the campus in December. It's an absolutely stunning 8,200 acre spread. The money and influence at that university is palpable. Add in great academics, a good coach and a competitive squad and let's just say I hope to keep competing with tsun and not tsow.
