He was probably better than McCord but would have been a step down from Stroud.....big step down.

Nah - he wasn't better than McCord. He wasn't even allowed to play Quarterback even in a system that was blatantly cheating.

I just don't think McCord was that good. I think McCarthy would have been at least as good if not better with the talent and coaching he would have gotten at OSU. His mobility would have made the difference. Regardless, neither are really NFL caliber QBs and it shines a light on the level of incompetence at some NFL Front offices.

Nothing says “my entire career has been built on cheating my ass off” like attempting 8 passes in a game after having the cheating cord cut, and then slowly working your way back to mid as hell at best for the rest of the season after being forced to prepare without the cheating.
He cracked 150 yards passing exactly one time after that eight pass performance. What an absolute joke.
