J.J. McCarthy (once a tCun, always a tCun)

What if the NCAA takes it's lead from the NFL and buries this to keep anyone questioning the integrity of the game? Then what?

Our clown show/braintrust just lost (again) to this gimp after they spurned him for McCord.

I know I'm supposed to have a list of alternatives before I dare utter criticism of Day but he swung and missed on this one with a breathtaking impact.

Not fair to Day? COVID?

Maybe I'll make a Day excuse poll before they ban me.

This is really not a good year for QBs in the draft.
Where's the 11th year Notre Dame guy? Figured he would be in the mix.
I could see him or Penix being serviceable journeymen.
The rest, meh.

Hartman grades out as a late Day 3 or PFA prospect. He could slip into the undrafted free agent pool, but it’s also just as likely he’s selected in the late rounds for his appeal as an NFL backup. His lack of elite traits and advanced age locks him out of early-round range, but he has some desired qualities in a safety blanket.

Hartman was a starting QB at the collegiate level for the better part of six years. His experience is something that distinguishes him, as is his production. His physical talent, however, is not. His arm is average at best, and while he’s an above-average creator, he’s not a dynamic rushing threat.

He will be the steal of the draft and great in the league.

I’ll always root for Hartman. The rise of reality sports series has given us a better outlook on athletes lives. Hartman being on QB1 made me really like his character. If you all haven’t seen it, check it out, kid had a brutal senior season after having a great previous few years and sucked it up and went and thrived at Wake after a rocky start to college

Isn't he the one who went from a big time HS program to a small private school in only their second year of playing football for his Senior year? Or was that another kid on QB1? Your point is valid though, He seemed like a quality kid that you just wanted to see succeed.

Yep, that was him. He moved from Charlotte, NC and a much stronger school, to an upstart SC HS who I don't think won more than 3 games in several years. He took them to 7-3 his senior season. Didn't complain, and led his team as opposed to getting frustrated and begging his mom to transfer him to another powerhouse

The NFL network crawl kept showing some mock draft picks. There were different drafts, so it must have been different people's picks they were cycling through. Several of them had McCarthy going in the first round.
Luckily, the Browns don't have a first round pick, or there'd be a chance they'd waste it on him. I know it wouldn't make sense with Watson and maybe Flacco, but you never know with the Browns' management. Anyway, I'm confident that they won't take him.
