I have misplaced my pants.
So, I got a chance to look into this, myself:
In 2023, for the season, he was 240/332 (72.3%) for 2991 yards (9.01 ypa, 199.4 ypg), 22 td, 4 ints
September through the Indiana game (before):
111/142 (78.2%) for 1512 yards (10.65 ypa, 216.0 ypg), 14 td, 3 ints
Sparty through the end of the year (after):
129/190 (67.9%) for 1479 yards (7.78 ypa, 184.9 ypg), 8 td, 1 int
It is only fair to point out that the 7 games that make up the "before" data includes teams like East Carolina, UNLV, BGSU, Rutgers, and Indiana. The 8 teams that make up the "after" data includes teams like Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa, Alabama, and Washington. But they had a span of 4 games (Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, and Iowa) where McCarthy didn't get a total of 500 yards, combined. Is that what you do with a quarterback who you think should be a starting quarterback in the NFL? I mean - the cheaters won the games the best way they had - stop McCarthy from throwing the ball too much, because he wasn't who you wanted people to think he was.

Played a round with a Vikes fan today who was pissing and mosning about JJ. Entitled, hasn’t done shit, running his mouth, who’s going to want him, etc.
My response was A. He’s a Michigan grad, so what do you expect and B. who saw him play, especially after the cheating scandal and thought this was a high first round pick?

Right? If he's upset at the team for drafting him, that's fine. Anything else........to be upset means you didn't see it coming. That's on you.

My kid used to play soccer with this girl whose Dad was pretty well connected to folks that work for the Vikings (I specifically remember him detailing the heart burn in the building around committing the money to Cousins)

Minnesota Vikings fans have not been left impressed with what they have seen from J.J. McCarthy during the early stages of training camp.A battle for the starting quarterback spot with the Vikings was expected this offseason, but it looks as if there will be a clear winner.
Kyler Murray was brought in from the Arizona Cardinals as he sought a fresh start following his own struggles in Glendale.
The 28-year-old QB is going up against McCarthy at camp, with Vikings fans left rueing their organization’s decision to let Sam Darnold leave for the Seattle Seahawks.
However, with Murray and McCarthy left as their best two options at QB, there is already a clear winner as fans attending camp have been heard lambasting what they’ve seen from McCarthy.

Fans are finding it difficult to cut him much slack, though, with footage emerging from training camp of some errant throws from ‘nine’.
“Sacked. And he overthrows it. Terrible. Just terrible,” one fan was heard saying after McCarthy overthrew a pass to a wide-open receiver.
It must also be noted that in the relevant clip, McCarthy would have been sacked by the defender if it had not been a practice session.
There were numerous examples of McCarthy failing to find any accuracy with his throws, which was in stark contrast to Murray.
The offseason addition, Murray, appeared to have a much more impressive day than McCarthy based off the footage provided.
