And to compound it, they had a winning lottery ticket fall into their laps with Darnold actually figuring it out.............and they shipped him off to go win a SB in favor of this goober.

Gotta be the smartest man in the room.

Just like 49ers taking Trey Lance hoping he could one day be what Justin Fields was in College with Justin Fields sitting right there.

Now going by his Career Justin Fields may not have worked out either but he was the more complete option. Don't choose a more raw Justin Fields if you want a more polished Justin Fields

I think all the GM's bought into the complete bullshit being whispered by Mormon Leaf's team that JF had a shifty work ethic, was a bad teammate and dumb.

In hindsight, I realize that my comparison to Jamarcus Russel was entirely inappropriate. Everything Jamarcus Russel accomplished on the field was legit and not the result of an extensive multi-year cheating scheme.

All I know or think I know about McCarthy is from here, but is there a chance that he's so sheltered that he doesn't know that his success in *ichigan was due to cheating?
I can't excuse that any GM doesn't see that link. I can't respond to that.
But it seems like McCarthy thinks an NFL gig is his right because of what he did up north. And I wonder if he knows how much cheating happened.

Does he know what he did up north? Because from a certain point in time, he didn't even do enough to be called a game manager. Was he there for those games?
