I read two reports....one had this in it and one didn't...

DiGeronimo told The Dispatch that former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor provided the money to his teammates, adding that the payments were reimbursement for travel expenses to the event.

Surprisingly ESPN had this in their report and SI didn't.....SI made it sound as if the guys just got an envelope of cash and that the cited booster admits he handled it wrong. For a person who knows nothing of the facts it makes it sound that the booster handled it wrong because he got caught, not because he or the players didn't go through proper procedure to get the player's expenses reimbursed.....shoddy work.....

Cash reimbursements are NEVER ok with the NCAA.

If I choose to eat at Junior Day event, I have to pay and the school must receipt every paying visitor.

If I work a camp, the school gives me an official school check.

Cash is never an option in compliance.

And if you're a Buckeye football player, you DO NOT ACCEPT ENVELOPES FULL OF CASH!!!!!!!!!

Look, as a service to Buckeye Nation, I'll offer the following:

If you have cash you'd like to give to a student athlete, give it to me first. I'll be sure it's dealt with appropriately.

Anything for the scarlet and gray, that's me...

I'm sick of this thread. Thus far this season, every fucking week feels like it's own little off season.

When the hell is kickoff?

I agree with this sentiment... It is getting old talking about this shit. We have a huge game in 3 days. Can I motion to close this thread?

Procedural facts: Ncaa filed suspended 3 Ohio State players for two games for accepting a cash gift of 200 dollars. The defendants filed for reinstatement after one game the NCAA kept it at 2

Substantive fatcs: NCAA contends a violation occured when the players admitted they excepted the cash at the event

The three players in this case realized it was wrong and agreed to a one game suspention based of past presedence

Holding: The NCAA found that because its Ohio State and its Friday at 5pm they will keep them out for a second game.

Rationale: NCAA does what it wants therefore fuck off

And herein lies the problem with the NCAA and why they have outlived their use and need to go away. They do what they want when they want and they are the most inconsistent organization regarding fair application of their rules.

While it may not be a perfect scenario, I say it would be more expeditious if we move these types of items to the league that a team plays in for a ruling. I understand this brings in bias amongst how leagues will treat their own teams, but can it be any worse than the NCAA bungling of these items...
