Coach Brownell is a good coach and he's already doing some really good things at Wright State. I'd hate to see him go, but that's the nature of being successful at a program like Wright State. I have little doubt Brownell could be successful, but Litl is probably right. He probably needs to do it at another place more prominent than WSU before he could get a job like IU.

I don't think Pitino is going anywhere. I think the fact that he's at Louisville is acknowledgment of the fact that it was a mistake to leave Kentucky for the Celtics. He has a good gig in Louisville, and despite the disdain he exhibited for the lifestyle in Kentucky when he first got there, I think he's made himself a home and will probably retire from Louisville one day.

Sean Miller seems like the obvious choice. I'd like to see him stay at Xavier, but Indiana is a plum job. I realize that Indiana is at a different level in terms of prestige, but Xavier may be getting close to the point where that job is a destination and not a stepping stone. It was a strong program under Gillen, Prosser and Matta, and Miller has only added to that. Miller might be the best move for Indiana though, and for the sake of the Buckeyes, that's probably who I'd least like them to have to face in the coming years.

There has been some rumors that the money it would take to lure Miller from Xavier may be to high for Indiana......
Boy, that is strange. Those Miller love Xavier that much or are they really compensating him more than what Indiana could offer. If IU can't top an Xavier package they might have to go with the guy from Wright State... not saying that is all bad.

He may just be thinking that his chances at competing for championships are as good or better at Xavier than at Indiana. I think that says as much good about Xavier as it says bad about IU and their impending disciplinary situation.

Plus they might not have enough players to put a team on the court unless they have a good intramural program at IU:biggrin:

"Indiana Near Agreement To Make Crean Next Coach"

Great hire, in comparison to where they went with their last coach and where they could have gone with. FWIW, also heard the rumors about Sean Miller having a buyout clause that was too steep for the Hoosiers. Kinda wish they'd have gone with Miller because he's a real up-and-comer and would have rekindled our rivalry with IU, but Crean's a great coach and one that tOSU looked at not too long ago as a replacement for O'Brien. Why didn't they go with Crean earlier??
