In the too good to be true category, Minneapolis businessman Tom Petters was just indicted for a multi-billion dollar business fraud scheme dating back to the mid nineties. Given that they had several moles in his organization, the feds are confident that they have an ironclad case against Petters.

Mr. Petters, by the way, is the primary donor and namesake for the Petters Center for Business Ethics at......wait for it.......here it comes.......Miami of Ohio.

Somedays, ol' ORD wakes up, and life hands him a frickin' bouquet of flowers.

Heh, not sure how old you are or what year you graduated. But something tells me at some point in time you received a rejection letter from Miami of Ohio. This is not the first thread I've read where you've taken a shot at them.
Why such animosity?

I work with a guy in Finance from Miami. He's pretty damn smart and seems like an ok dude. He misses dayton quite a bit actually and I think he'd move back in a second if it was offered.

In all honesty, I grew up out west and never heard of Miami of Ohio until I came to Ohio State for college. I was, however, rejected by Cal and to this day consider it a great university that I often root for in sports and would be happy to send my kids to. I've never liked Miami of Ohio for two primary reasons.

1) the mind-numbing arrogance and pretentiousness (over nothing more than a 25 year old book that was the opinion of one man) among a huge number of its students and alums.

2) the university's long institutional history of bad mouthing Ohio State and stabbing it in the back every chance they get.

Besides, whatever the university, the story of a businessman being indicted for multi-billion dollar fraud after founding a Center for Business Ethics is definitely noteworthy.

Suditing... I hated that course too. It was somehow a lot like auditing, but with just a slightly different-enough approach that made it hard for me to really understand.

I'm sure others will also admit that, once they've taken their GASP blinders off.

Brought down many firms. Many... not just Srthur Sndersen. All for the want of some "a". Perverts... all of them. So ironicsl.

Careful, I used to work at AA before Enron, actually turned off the lights there on the way out.....
Given all that I have some fine land for sale in the this little place called the Everglades......:biggrin:
