The PI call on Scirotto on the last drive was a good call, and considering his role in the apartment party brawl last year, I admit to having some schadenfreude at his expense. :biggrin:

We are now tied for 1st place in the Big Ten and will stay there if we win out. We will be second for the BCS bowl if PSU beats MSU. If MSU beats PSU, we go to the Rose Bowl, right?

I think PSU whups them in Happy Valley. But we control our own fate for a piece of the Big Ten title, and possible BCS bid.

Oh yeah, and the PSU fans are crying tonight. :biggrin:

I disagree.

a) If we win out, at 10-2. We will be top 10 in the BCS rankings, and with our fan base, and TV ratings, we will get an at-large bid to either the Orange or Fiesta Bowl
b) If PSU loses to MSU, we now go to the Rose Bowl as Big Ten reps.
c) If we win out, we are at least co-Big Ten champs. That would make four in a row. Pretty sweet.


In my opinion, if Penn State had gone to the NCG, then getting the Rose Bowl, while finishing 2nd in the Big Ten, would have stunk. The Rose Bowl is for the Big Ten champ. Not winning the Big Ten, and then going there, to me is like a consolation prize. AND THE ROSE BOWL SHOULDNT BE A CONSOLATION PRIZE!


I'm glad Iowa won. I don't care about Penn State. I don't care about Big Ten perception. I care about Ohio State winning the Big Ten...and this helped. Plus I hate Penn State.

Absolutely. If we win out we're co-champs!! If PSU wins out, they will get the BCS nod because of head to head against us (since MSU will have two losses if PSU wins out). If MSU wins out, they'll have beat PSU and be co champs with us, but we get the Rose Bowl because of head to head. So in two weeks, GO SPARTY!!!

Best situation, Indians pulls of a miracle and beats PSU next week and then PSU beats MSU. That will not happen.

Were Ba-ack!!!

Yes. If MSU and OSU win out. We tie for the Big Ten championship. We get the Rose Bowl bid because of the head to head matchup. If Penn State and us win out, then Penn State gets the Rose Bowl bid for the same reason. But a 10-2 Ohio State team will likely get a BCS at-large bid.
